Sad. Very sad. This game is over. No way we can turn this around. We're just playing too poorly, and Lakers playing too good.
Life may not be the party we hoped for but while we are here we might as well dance!

Is there a way to keep Krstic on the bench for the rest of this game?
He doesn't help this team in any way in this series at least.
Ibaka and Collison need to play instead. We would need a huge spurt at the start of the 3rd Q in order tomake this a game.
From what I'v seen in the 1st half though, that seems pretty unlikely.

Wow this has been ugly.

Not exactly what i was hoping to watch tonight. What can you say the World Champs responded. Come back to OKC and take care of business on home court.

They may have lost this game(lets see some sort of come back at least to single digits) but their is still light.

horrible half of basketball. We need to come out and play with pride in the 2nd half, that's all I can ask for.

The Lakers are just so commited to stopping our fast break. They only have three offensive rebounds, one off a missed free throw. Once they miss a shot, EVERY LAKER is getting back on defense before we even have the rebound. They're forcing us to be a half court team and we know how that tune goes.

I don't really put this on the players. I think our team is just not well coached on offense. Our sets are simple, usually involving a pin down, a screen / curl, or an isolation. Most of the sets don't involve any movement from anyone but the screener and ball handler. The Lakers are putting on a half court clinic.. cutting to the basket, retreating to the corners for jump shots, meeting the slasher in the paint for the hand off / dunk when the help comes. Our defense hasn't been great (mainly one on one.. Jeff Green in particular is getting schooled by Gasol), but it's our offense that really can't keep up. If the Lakers make this a half court game they win handily.

This is something that won't be corrected until the offseason, even if it's corrected. We need better passing on offense. Kevin Durant, Jeff Green, Nenad Krstic, Serge Ibaka, Nick Collison.. none of those guys are good (or even willing, in most cases) passers. They make a move offensively and the ball is going toward the basket more often than not. That makes our offense so simple to defend. There's no cutters going to the rim when the man draws the defense unless the PG is handling. It's just too simplistic against a good half court defensive team like the Lakers. We need work in the offseason on this desperately, and probably a nice acquisition in the offseason.

Also, Thabo has really worn out his welcome in the starting lineup as far as I am concerned... I've felt this way on and off since the All Star break and nothing he's done this series has convinced me otherwise.

We really should have used Etan Thomas to get physical with Bynum and Gasol. You foul them hard and since they are soft they wouldnt be effective.

For real analysis, Green can be a mismatch for Gasol on the offensive set but we never let Green take him off the dribble. Green cant score from the post or the baseline but he can blow by him at the top of the key. Once he gets into the paint, he needs to grow a pair and just try dunking over Bynum instead of trying to score around him

Even if Green could take Gasol off the dribble once in a while, Gasol more than makes up for it at the other end of the court. The Lakers will take that Green/Gasol matchup all day long every day.

We got absolutely destroyed and it wasn't because of a lack of effort. Really bad loss no matter what, but the guys need to watch the tape then forget about it and move on to OKC for game 6.

Kristic was useless tonight

What did i say guys? This team is unpredictable and you dont know what you get from them. This loss didnt surprise me at all. OKC needs 2-3 new starters before they can be a good playoff team. Thabo, Krstic and Green are too bad. I want to see Bosh replace Krstic as Center. I want to see Ibaka replace Thabo Sefolosha. And i want a new Power forward with size to replace Green.

There's your switch. :D That game showed that the Lakers can digg deep, and it is not about Thunders having a less than stellar game. To the OP, poetic analysis, but you have to agree that the Lakers made all the right adjustments and made all the right decisions that you didn't think they were capable of doing. Stunned? Lakers fans are too so you are not alone.

I'm not stunned at all. The Lakers played much better than they've played all season, the Thunder had one of their worst games. It happens.

I doubt the Thunder will shoot 25% in the first half in games six or seven, and the Lakers won't shoot 65%.

Well your first post in the game one thread said that Westbrook was overrated.

Bosh at center huh? I use to play "let's pretend" to when I was in the first grade. It's 4:30pm my time so I'm thinking it about time for your daily nap.

So if Bosh is such an amazing center how come his team sucks since Bargs is a PF?

No offense but your suggestions suck ass. Ibaka to replace Thabo? Brilliant!

Maybe we can sign Shaq to play PG?

Well screw you. Thabo, Krstic and Green has nothing to do more in this team, we need better starters thats a fact. It doesnt have to be Bosh but he is good and he have size to fit well in this team. Thabo is a joke offensively and overrated defensively. Green is a joke on both ends. If my suggestion doesnt happen, OKC will still be unpredictable. I think the OKC got lucky in the standing in the regular season. It could/should have been much worse than it was. I see The Rockets and Grizzlies (maybe) as better teams. This team needs a renovation in the summer. Get rid of bad starters.

Unfortunately, I feel like the they will be playing against the refs as well tonight... and their aggressive, leave it all out on the floor, type of play won't be rewarded as it should be... while the Lakers will get calls just for being... the lakers. But I'll be pullin for ya. go thunder!

Everything's good when your (well, not really your) team is getting 48 FTs. Typical hypocritical anti-Laker take where you make the absurd claim that they'll receive calls for being the Lakers while you ask from the other side of your mouth for the refs to "reward" OK. Not surprised.

If LA got a 48-24 disparity, I'd like to see an outside observer have the balls to claim that LA was rewarded for their aggressiveness. We ALL know that wouldn't happen. Likely, it would be croc tears over Stern, fixes, riggings, Donaghy, etc.

Return to Oklahoma City Thunder
