The thunder have 3 open roster spots. I have already discussed the first open spot. Now the thunder need to add a guy who can push Weaver, play defense and shoot the 3-ball. Or we can bring in a point guard to push Maynor and give us some depth. Or we can bring back Ollie. Even though I think Ollie should come back as a coach not a player.

I wanted to add Mike Miller as Swingman off the bench . We need a another player who can constantly knock down the 3. He's also a underrated ball handler and defender. Now saying that I realize that their would have to be some type of roster movement. I think Harden starts next year and Thabo moves to the bench where he belongs.

But I was looking for something like this from our backcourt swingman rotation

I dont think Miller comes here for a low paying job and I dont think Sammy gives him enough years to play here.

Maybe in a sitaution where he can't find a home. But, Miller is a good player. Plus, the Thunder still have Jeff Green under contract who can fill min's @ the 3.

I don't think Mike Miller is a good fit at this point. Oddly enough though the mention of Miller did trigger an analysis of his game and a startling revelation for me. I've always like Miller's skill level, but been largely frustrated by his lack of consistency and inability to put all of his skills together to be anything more than a complimentary player who is as likely to disappear as alter the outcome of game.

My revelation was how much Miller's career reminded me of James Harden's rookie season.

I was saddened by Weaver's shoulder injury last season as it really hampered his chances to carve out a role on last years team. I think if Harden steps up his game, then Weaver still has great value to this team. I can't forget two years ago when Durant was injured and Weaver and Sefolosha were locking down opposing swing men in such a way that the team was actually winning without Durant. Weaver won't be eligible for the d league next season, the last of his contract, so he needs to establish himself in training camp to have a future beyond insurance with this team.

One of my favorite players in the draft and potentially a great fit for a 3rd point guard slot is Jerome Randle. Won't be able to play multiple positions due to lack of height and weight, but is a very good shooter, can run a team has good speed and quickness. I think his advanced professionalism and high character make him an ideal fit and his unique skills could allow him to carve out a niche on the team at a reasonable salary.

Jordan Crawford is a player that should be looked at in the upcoming draft if you want to hedge your bets with Harden by adding another scorer. Crawford reminds me of that old Buddy Ryan line about Chris Carter," all he (Carter) does is catch touchdowns". All Crawford does is score. Analyze him physically or even statistically and your mildly impressed, but watch him play and he finds ways to score and ultimately out play opponents with better paper stats. Crawford makes me believe he will have a long career because of it.

We should draft Craig Brackins. Lottery talent last year, stock fell because of his age and the fact that his numbers are worse than last season but the guy can play.
