What is Jeff Green's Fair Market Value. If we signed him to a contract tommrow. What is the amount of money you would give him?

I think OKC understands that the value Jeff Green and his agent believe he has to the Thunder is different than what the market would bare.

In the case of Jeff Green, he has been drafted, developed and given the responsibilities of a core player for OKC. As such his agent will be looking for core value dollars at maximum years. To avoid paying those dollars the prudent strategy is to let the true market set his value and then decide if it is worth matching.

It only takes one GM or Owner to decide to give maximum dollars to a role player. Rashard Lewis is a great example. What Presti has sought to do is build the team in such a way that the organization cannot be held hostage by any player. They don't have to bid against themselves for Jeff Green because there are three prospects ready to take his place.

Some interesting factors that will help guide Jeff Green's value is what the parameters of a new CBA are, does Jeff Green make Team USA for the World Championships, does Jeff Green continue to start for the Thunder next season.
