The NBA is taking a stricter stance toward players’ behavior next year, instructing referees to slap overly dramatic players with technical fouls. The new rules also go as far to allow referees to interpret disagreement through non-verbal reactions. Here are the new guidelines, per ESPN:
• Players making aggressive gestures, such as air punches, anywhere on the court.
• Demonstrative disagreement, such as when a player incredulously raises his hands, or smacks his own arm to demonstrate how he was fouled.
• Running directly at an official to complain about a call.
• Excessive inquiries about a call, even in a civilized tone.
So what do you all think of this rule? I think its overreacting and the idea may be good, but it is handled waaaaay too excessively.
Players can't slap their own hands or make other non-verbal gestures, showig their instinctive emotions to a referee call? Thats just stupid. I mean, its ok to give a technical to a player who shouts something at the refs or does aggressive, offensive gestures, but to get a tech when a player gets a fould cal and he slaps his own hand saying "Damn!" or getting a tech, when someone goes to the ref and say in a sportly manner something...thats just ridiculous!
Players are already complaining and I completely see why. This has to be somthing that they re-do soon, just like the "New Basketball" last year (do you remember?) and instead implement a rule where you can rewatch a play at the end of a game to make sure a foul call was really a foul or the opposite way.
What do you think?

Re: New NBA rule
they're professionals - after a few weeks they'll adjust and all the brew-ha-ha will blow over.
Cant be a bad thing I do find it irritating watching players whine and crap on over every call.
