Guys i was just talking with my dad and he said what if Dwight was on our team, would we be the most dominate team in the west? I think so....
PG: Westbrook
SG: Harden
SF: Durant
PF: Green or Ibaka
C: Howard
DAM! Again i'm not talking about trading. I'm just asking what if he was on our team, would we be a dominate team to beat?
Dwight Howard?

Re: Dwight Howard?
But what if???????????
What if he was on the Thunder?
If a guy like D Howard truly wants to compete he could win a lot of rings with Durant and Westbrook.
Say if the Thunder gave up Ibaka and Green with some picks?
I like Ibaka a boatload and that kid is going to be a defensive monster with decent offensive flow. But for Howard I would have no problem trading those kids. I will even add a pick.
I don't know if OKC could even afford the price tag that comes with that but it would be fun to see the franchise go all in and gamble for greatness.
Seriously it would be nice to see the franchise rack up 6 or 7 titles in the next 10 years and there is a team in Miami that is going to be tough. Make a trade for greatness, go get D Howard.
To D Howard you have to ask yourself, is it about rings, or is it about "The Mouse". What kind of legacy do you want D Howard?
Is it about the show?
Or is it real?

Re: Dwight Howard?
We'd be good but this has 0% chance of happening. Dwight Howard is not coming to OKC, and Orlando would not trade him to us for anything less than Kevin Durant and even then they probably wouldn't do that (for the same reasons we wouldn't trade KD for Dwight).

We should start a D12 to OKC campaign.

at this point we're not even successful with a "Give Cole some minutes" campaign so Im not sure we can be this ambitious quite yet

Re: Dwight Howard?
Let's see... with Krstic starting and Ibaka holding down the backup 5, the Thunder were a 50-win team that occasionally struggled on offense despite Durant, mainly because Jeff Green isn't being handled right and the shooting could be better, and blah, blah, blah. Good team, dominant star, every team has weaknesses.
Now you add in a guy capable of 20 ppg, DPOY defense and league-leading work on the boards who thrives in transition and sucks defenders away from the perimeter, and who has led his team to consecutive 59-win seasons without anyone even remotely close to Durant's level on his team (let alone the pair of Durant and Westbrook)...
I'm pretty sure you see where I'm going. That team would instantaneously be a 60+-win squad contending for the title and should arguably be the favorite to win it, even over Miami, Boston and the Lakers. The Thunder are good to begin with, adding a player like that who doesn't conflict with the basic interplay between your two most important players? Insta-dominance.

my mouth is watering after hearing that. I hope Aldrich can be half the defender and rebounder Dwight is.

Re: Dwight Howard?
I think not even that, dream; just look at the kind of tandem production you could get from Cole and from Ibaka.
Serge is averaging 11/8 and 2.2 bpg at the moment. He's shooting a little over his head, but not that much (given last year), but he's looking really good.
Aldrich looked decent in the two games he played and in the preseason; he certainly sets a mean screen, and that's pretty important given Durant.
Optimism is the word of the day.

Re: Dwight Howard?
Cole has been great in the 5 minutes a game that he gets. Brooks is really damn frustrating right now. See what happened when you gave ibaka minutes last year? Do it with aldrich

maybe its the legacy of building your own team to win. He came to a team in the dumps and has singlehandedly turned it into a legitimate contender every year. Like what Durant has done. Why would he sully that by joining another team that isnt his, and catch the Lebron Syndrome of not being able to do it on your own?
