Oklahoma City Thunder @ Golden State Warriors 12/5/2010

Post#1 » by slick_watts » Sun Dec 5, 2010 9:22 pm

Kevin Durant will be back for this one. We need him back.

Hopefully we play some defense.

We need this game to salvage this five game stretch. 3-2 in the last five would be acceptable with the little road trip coming up.

Both teams will get in the 100s easily.

It's officially December, so it's time for Durant to turn it on and stop stinking.

Sounds about right, I'd like to have Durant get hot. You would think a game against the Warriors could cure what is ailing him.

I'm thinking if not Durant, Westbrook will go for 30pts tonight against Steph Curry. I like Curry but he is not a good defender and looked lost in FIBA play this Summer. Westbrook should have his way tonight. It's not like Ellis should contain him either.

I'm curious to see David Lee in Oakland.

More than anything I want to see this team come together defensively. If this team can find a rhythm defensively they can make real noise in the playoffs. If not they better hope for a top 4 seed and have home court if they want to make it out of the first round.

Only thing is that this pace favors GSW as the game goes on.

I wish Scott Brooks would at least try to get Russell Westbrook to play a little more conservative. I know sometimes his offensive rebounds and wild lay up attempts save us, but a lot of the time especially against a team like the Warriors it kills us. Several times in this game Russ has gone for an offensive rebound or steal in the backcourt, leading to Stephen Curry matched up against another defender for an easy attempt in transition. He's also doing a poor job on PnR gambling and not going through the screens.

This should be a 20 point lead, but it's 12, which is nothing against a team like GSW. Our offense nose dived after the great first quarter, too.

We suck.

You guys will ruin us from here on in. We are just about the worst defensive team in the league.

Gotta say, Westbrook is insane. Same with Ibaka.

That was a great end to the third quarter, I liked the change with how we started defending Curry on the screens. A nice coaching adjustment, there.

Can't like how we've ended this game. What a blow up.

This last 5 min offense is horrible for okc all they are doing is standing and throwing up some garbage when their is 3 seconds on the shot clock.

yep.. also played some poor defense on Curry all game.

Not a good game from Russ, though he'll get props for his line. His going for offensive rebounds and steals has lead to a lot of GSW attempts... and the end of this game should have seen the ball into KD's hands more.

Westbrook might have gotten too used to being the man.

I dunno what it is but it's probably not going to be fixed. Our execution on both ends to close out games has been bad all year, we win on talent.

The defense really seemed to struggle towards the end of the game once Ibaka fouled out. I don't understand Brooks management of why no sit him even though he was playing really well, and letting nick get into the game take a couple of charges or at least having Ibaka in the last 4 min to adjust the shots of the warriors guards who were driving because we were trying to contest all of the 3 point shots.

I think that Ibaka is playing good but maybe brooks wanted to see if ibaka could play with fouls. He did not take him out when he got 4 fouls in the 3rd quarter so i guess he wanted to matchup with GSW. James harden looks to be finding his confidence and stroke. I still would like him to finish better with contact. He plays better defense but he still has a long way to go. Thabo is going to continue to start until Harden gets consistent.

I can see Harden and Ibaka playing major roles by mid season. I think that Kristic days are numbered because he is a free agent this summer. Cole is in the D-League to get some minutes. I think that by mid season Cole will be back on the thunder and playing some of Kristic minutes. Jeff green is a solid player who has 2 game winners under his belt.
