Eric Maynor

Could you guys educate me a little bit on maynor. From the few games I've seen I think the guy could be a good starter in the league. What do you think his ceiling is? Is he starter material? Is his defense consistently good to very good?

Tell me about the guy since he has become part of the OKC Thunder. I think he could be a great trading chip because I don't see the guy wanting to be a 15 minute back up for his whole career and with Westbrook there that is the likely situation.

Maynor is a true point guard.. he can shoot.. usually has a good assist to turnover ratio.. his weaknesses are size.. and his defense id say.. he's struggled a lot this year guarding people off the bench and that probably keeps his minutes to a maximum.. I do think he has the talent to be a starting point guard in the NBA but he needs to put some muscle on and start competing at the defensive end consistently..

Eric Maynor's ceiling is probably borderline starter in the NBA. Maybe average starter.

Strengths: Generally plays under control, doesn't do things he can't do, has nice spot up three point shot now, can finish in the paint with the floater consistently, decent on the break, great PnR point guard.

Weaknesses: Size, average athleticism, has been prone to streaks of poor play this season, defense comes and goes but is usually okay, sometimes he'll be on the court and you won't even know he's there.

His ceiling is Jamaal Tinsley. He's a better shooter than Tinsley, maybe not as strong. But I think in terms of impact down the line it's a good comparison. He's been a lot more useful since he's been making threes.
