Serge Ibaka's future at the Center spot

Post#1 » by kd35sneighbor » Sat Dec 18, 2010 3:09 am

Obviously a lot of this hinges on what happens to Green after this summer, but do you guys foresee Ibaka's play at the C position a temporary one or think he can stay there for good. Can we win a ring with him manning the C for good? We have been 12-1 with him in the starting line-up.

He's a PF. The team might put him at center because there's a fascination with playing guys out of position, but he should be at PF, ideally.

He is so young! He has about 3 years of playing ball @ the position. He'll 3 years ago he could have just played big. How tall is he really? Does he weigh his weight? I see no reason y he cant to learn that position. The center position has changed. I think there might b 4 or 5 legit C's in da league. My answer, Y Not?

He's the exact same height as howard, so yes, he could play the center. He's probably better as a PF though

Height doesn't matter. Kevin Durant is the same height as Dwight Howard, so should he be playing center?

Serge doesn't have the strength or mass to play center, he gets pushed around in the paint. Physically, it's not ideal at all. His center of gravity is high, and he can't establish or keep position against the big guys.

I just said that Ibaka could play center because of his height, i also said that Ibaka would be better as a PF. So yes, i agree with you

Also, durant could play center too, but it wouldn't work very well at all. Kevin Durant is a much better post defender than he is a perimeter defender. I sometimes wish that durant would guard the PF's and then let green guard the SF's, but that's neither here nor there
