Our Starters and Bench

Post#1 » by dream_catcher_9 » Wed Mar 23, 2011 8:42 pm

This is taken from Basketballvalue.com

Westbrook/Sefolosha/Durant/Ibaka/Perkins = 111 OffensiveRTG, 95 DefensiveRTG in 58 minutes.

Maynor/Harden/Cook/Collison/Mohammed = 106 OffensiveRTG, 95 DefensiveRTG in 42 minutes.

Obviously it's a ridiculously small sample size, but I feel like we could have the most complete team in the NBA by next year at the earliest. We could improve on Cook at the draft, but this is going to be our rotation for the next few years.

Be careful of definitive statements like this.

I don't think the starting lineup as currently constructed will last.

I think Sefolosha should go. We needed his defense before, but now we need more offense.

the fifth highest scoring offense in the league needs more offense?

Sefolosha isn't going anywhere, Brooks and co. are high on him to the extent that his value to the team is exceeded by anything that the Thunder are going to get for him in a trade. Thabo may eventually slip out of the starting line-up, but he's going to remain a 20+ minute guy.

I think thabo still have value to the team. Not a starter minutes role though probably anything below 20mins.

I dont see whats wrong with starting thabo. Sure the spacing might not be ideal when that lineup is on the floor, but without Harden coming off the bench i dont know who you guys expect to score in the second unit.

Sefolosha shouldnt be closing games though, Harden needs to be there in crunch time even though he doesnt get a chance to touch the ball when its close late.

Maynor/Sefolosha/Cook/Collison/Mohammed would be terrible off the bench. I like the rotation as is with Harden providing an offensive spark similar to how Ginobili was in San Antonio or Terry in Dallas

This dude is continually one of the best defenders in the game. If you want KD, Harden, and Westbrook to keep producing on the offensive end you need a guy like Thabo to guard Kobe, Roy, Manu, Wade, Ray Allen and Joe Johnson for 30 min a game.

Thabo starts to balance our attack. Harden will be in the Jason Terry role. He will win the award for 6th man of the year, and be an instant spark of scoring if needed.
