It seems as if Riley convinced Jackson and his agent that Jackson would get a first round equivalent contract at #31 and a chance to start in Miami. Jackson in turn agreed to not only not workout for teams, but not even interview. It was an ambitious scheme to steal a talented player.
The more i think about it the more it make sense that Miami was the one that promised Reggie. Whoever was coming in had a decent chance to be in their roster and even be a starter by season end.

The way his words are worded make it seems that we weren't the one that promised but more so than his words i find it hard to believe that Reggie will forgo going higher for a chance to crack our rotation with out PG, SG rotation set with probably at most Thabo sliding to SF.
Nice read for a few pages i guess

Statistically he looks much more than a late first rounder.

What else is Presti going to say? That's the same stuff he said about Green. I think Maynor will be gone by next offseason one way or another.

Re: OKC selects Reggie Jackson with the 24th pick
Lets all be easy. The Thunder drafted a guy 11 picks higher last year and dude didnt even really play. Lets first let the NBA figure out a way to get a deal done. Then lets get this kid in to see what he can do. It is never bad to have three point guards. Ivey and Robinson are the only two whoare affected by this pick.
You never know what can happen in the NBA. But, during the draft you take the BPA. If Jackson was it then fine. If we took a Center I would be happy too. You will come up short if you draft for need. You have to take the BPA and work it out from there.
