Opening Night....Merry X-MAS! You too Dwight.

Dwight Howard will get a chance to see the OKC Regulators up close and personal when he plays them opening night.

Merry X-mas Dwight you get to be pummeled by the best team in the league this year. Take a good hard look at OKC and see if you want to win rings or do you want to be all, knocked off, bling? Because when it comes down to greatness measured in the NBA it's counted on fingers not in your back pocket. There is plenty of money in all the markets if you really think about it. I know this is basic **** but 8mil is a lot of freakin' coin period.

I know Dwight has laid it all out there. He wants to win he wants help and there is no real help in Orlando. Who are also locked up pretty tight with the cap. So no one is coming in outside the draft. And that's not the kind of help Dwight needs. He needs real help. Orlando tried they just kept striking out, taking bigger and bigger risks.

Take a long look at the OKC Regulators, Howard. They are young with a lot of firepower. You'd fit in really nicely.

Side note though. My personal opinion is that Howard is gone. I think he is leaving Orlando. If Dwight turned to his agent and said "Have them trade me for Chris Bosh, if they don't trade me to Miami I will walk and leave them with nothing at the end of the year." does anyone turn it down?

I think Pat Riley would say yes faster than the guy could get the words out. And I don't know if Orlando could get a single better piece than Bosh.

Is Westbrook better than Bosh? OK well let's say, is he worth more? Or both?

as much as I love Dwight, I don't think we should target him. The 3 of Russ, KD and Dwight would cripple this franchise that we wont have money for anyone else.

I think he ends up in LA, Clippers that is.

yes Russ is better than Bosh by a big margin IMO.

We wouldn't need anyone else. Dwight = automatic top five defense. Durant = Top 5 offense. The team would be unstoppable.

assuming it takes Perkins, Harden and Ibaka we would be left with...

Westbrook
Sefolosha
Durant
Collison
Howard

Maynor
Jackson
Cook
?????
Aldrich

great starting unit plus a developing talent in Jackson, but after that we have no bench. Maybe we could get back Bass?

Scott Brooks would figure it out. Maybe a Maynor-Sefolosha-Durant-Perkins-Howard starting line up.

Brooks loves two and a half man.

Nah Presti will figure it out while Brooks will just play the one that's longer in the team into the starting lineup.

If the team wants a ring at least and is willing to go into luxury tax, You can't go round building around WB/KD/Dwight or Harden/KD/Dwight.

So a trade for Dwight would have to include Perkins + Ibaka + pieces (maximum Harden) or Perkins + Westbrook + Picks or bench pieces.

I don't think KD+Dwight alone would result in a Top 5 offense. Assuming it takes Westbrook-Harden-Perkins to get Howard, they would definitely need at least a good playmaker at the 1 or 2 to reach that level. I mean, the Thunder were only the 5th ranked offense (in terms of ORTG) and that was with KD AND Westbrook having remarkable offensive seasons.

Though with the length that a KD-Ibaka-Dwight frontcourt would give the team defensively it probably doesn't matter.

I would keep Harden no matter what last playoffs he and Collison where the impact players and Ibaka struggle a litle bit so:
RW+Perk+Ibaka+Nazi(exp) for DH+Ryan Anderson
Our big 3: Harden+KD+DH12 could be affordable for the future cause all other players have resonable contracts.
And I would try to sign Battier and let go Cook
Maynor/Reggie (Harden can play PG too)
JH/Sefo
KD/Battier
Anderson/Collison
DH/Cole Ald
