Kahn did trade Foye and Mike Miller to get the #5 pick that became Rubio, so he deserves credit for that, and maybe for not listening to big markets that offered him pennies on the dollar for Rubio after the draft, claiming he'd never show up in MIN.

But yeah, that other trade was McHale's, and turned out to be a tremendous one. He not only swapped Mayo for Love, he got Mike Miller (half of Rubio) and moved Jaric for the cap space that you could say got him Beasley. Most pundits at the time said he screwed up, saying the long-suffering wolves needed a player like Mayo that had a chance to be a star, not some hardhat low-ceiling player like Love.
