Does anybody else think Presti is making us a very similar model to the old Spurs. I mean of course that's where he came from, but look at our roster
Westbrook- Quick guard, Decent J, Scorer more than distributor- T. Parker
Sefolosha- Long athletic defender that understands his role on the team- B. Bowen
Cook- Shooter that can have hot nights, but consistant- Finley, B. Berry
Harden- Dynamic scorer off the bench, should be a starter but gives a punch to 2nd unit- M. Ginobili
Durant- Scoring forward, with good leadership qualities, not always a big talker, HOFmer - Duncan
Now I know Duncan and Durant are a stretch, but it's impossible to replace those guys on a new team, but do you guys see that resemblance. Or am I crazy. You can even look up how similar the stats and minutes are, it's pretty close. Minus the fact Duncan plays the 4-5 Durant plays the 3-4.

Other than the fact that we lack a Duncan-esque defensive anchor, the biggest difference between us and the Spurs walks up and down the sidelines.

No. Not good enough at head coach.

I think one of the best things that could have happened at early stages of Thunder's development, would be if Kevin Durant was built to be a PF in Kevin Garnett's mold.

Na, he's exactly where he should be at this point in his career. He can make the move to PF when he fills out and loses a bit of athleticism. As is, he's the greatest match up problem in the league not named LeBron.

Well I wasn't speaking from a coaching standpoint I wouldn't dare compare Brooks to Pop. But I mean in the way the GM is putting a team together.

Well I'd love that too, but we still have some more work to do, especially in some of the fundamental and coaching aspects of the game before we even get close to that.

I totally agree, I mean we have a much younger team than they had. Also, we aren't as good defensively as they were. So we pick up the pace, get some more transition plays and such. But I totally wish we had a great defensive anchor. It would hide our poor perimeter defense a little better.
Overall: I don't think we are exactly like the Spurs. A lot can be contributed to coaching but i'm referring to how the team is put together from a GM standpoint. Like I said before. Also, like I said before I know we can't compare Duncan to Durant, Presti couldn't just go get another Duncan. Our mold is slightly different but I think the idea is the same.
