Any interest in Steve Nash?
Three questions:
1.) What would it take from us to get him?
2.) Would we want him?
3.) Would Presti want him?

1. Not sure.
2. Yes.
3. Not sure.
That said, if we somehow managed to get Nash for free, and yes, I realize that's about as plausible as Tyler Perry being straight. But if we did, I'd love to see a lineup in which Nash played the 1, and Westbrook played the 2. That way, Harden could still come off the bench. Nash could limit his minutes to about 27 per game, and when he sat early, Westbrook could retake the 1 spot.
All wishful thinking though. Nash will probably be in LA or Miami. Unfair, but it's the way things work in the NBA.

Nope, we need another big man. Chris Kaman is on the market so we should get him....

The Thunder can not take on his salary because they do not have enough to give up. The Thunder are fine. You cant just add a PG and move Westbrook to SG for a half season. It just wont work.

I would love to have Steve Nash on this team but it's not realistic. The only way we can get nash IMO is if we completely shuffle the team and do a blockbuster Westbrook + Perkins + picks to Orlando for Howard. Then move Ibaka to Phoenix for Nash and Dudley. Even then Salaries wouldn't match and i'm just dreaming, lol.

It would be awesome to get him but it's never going to happen. It's not worth messing up the roster for.

Re: Any interest in Steve Nash?
There is a very small chance that the Suns could buy Nash out of his contract and allow him to pick his team as a free agent. At that point could Presti sell Nash on a good situation and an important back up role that would potentially prolong his career while he competes for a championship? Maybe.
The one trade I pondered is one that Presti would probably not offer and I'm not sure if Babby would accept.
Pho: Nash & Gortat
for
OKC: Harden, Perkins, Mohammed & Maynor

The Thunder could trade Nazr, Cook, and Ivey for Nash. I don't know how it would work. But, it would be interesting.

The Suns are not buying out Nash. But with the seniaro of trading Nazr, Cook, and Ivey for Nash (plus the Thunder could use the trade exemption and get back Michael Redd), looks pretty dam tempting!

Trade checker says this trade doesn't work.
Why do you think it does?
Also, why would Phonix do that trade? They could get a much better package for Nash than that.
Of course it would be great having Nash in our roster, almost a dream.

Phoenix is going to want something to build from in trading Nash, a prospect or draft pick or both depending upon the quality of either.
Am I the only one who thinks that Nash would have to come off the bench for the Thunder?

I think you are right, that Phoenix would want more than what we can offer them (or willing to) for Nash.
But I disagree that he would have to come off the bench.
Now think about this: Nash starts at PG and Westbrook at SG.
Minutes would be split like this:
PG: Nash 32 minutes / Westbrook 16
SG: Westbrook 20 / Harden 28
That would also solve our surrent SG issue. Btw, what on earth is going on with Thabo?
Its like he disappeared from one day to the other, He was supposed to have some minor injury and now he's been out for weeks and months almost. Any word on his status?

Re: Any interest in Steve Nash?
I'll disagree. I think Westbrook gives such a physical advantage at point guard that you become a potentially poor defensive team with a Nash/Westbrook back court. I do think that you experiment with Nash closing games at the point, but you have to limit the defensive exposure.
I also think Nash would benefit from reduced minutes and a bench role which would potentially extend his career. Instead of creating a competition for Westbrook you create a mentorship situation.
Isn't the issue a tendon in Sefolosha's ankle? If so they heal weird and timetables are sometimes unreliable. It would be nice to have him back a couple of weeks before the playoffs.
