Who would OKC rather play in the WCF?

If you got to choose, which team would you want to advance in the round 2 matchup of SA and LA?

San Antonio won the season matchup at 2-1
LA Clippers won the season matchup at 3-1

Against S/A they won/lost by:
Won by 12
Lost by 11
Lost by 9

Against LAC they won/lost by:
Lost by 12
Won by 23
Lost by 2
Lost by 15

Despite the blowout Vs LAC they lost by almost 10ppg in the other games. If we exclude the win against SA, OKC lost by 10ppg as well.

I think OKC played much worse against the Clippers in the season but would rather them meet them in the WCF then San Antonio. Playoff San Antonio is a scary team with so many veteran guys.

To me thats too obvious. Spurs are just so muh better, so much more scary.
Thats why there is no chance that the Clippers beat them.
Thunder WILL play the Spurs in the WCF, you can book it, and I wouldnt bet any money on us in that series either. Sorry for my pessimism, I hope that will change as soon as we start that series, but right now, I dont think anyone can stop the Spurs this year.

Easy for me too
It's the Clippers
Not only are the Spurs better but the Clippers are banged up pretty well

Yup, Clippers without hesitation. Spurs are the significantly better team, and I think a worse matchup as well.

A rather premature thread imo.

San Antonio.

If San Antonio is the team OKC has to get through for a chance at the finals then it should happen this year. This team will either rise to the occasion or learn the lessons necessary to come back stronger next year. Why hope for a delay in the match up?

Would you also say this if we went on losing to the Spurs?

You mean losing to the Spurs year after year? Yes. Although I don't think that would happen.

The team is either capable of winning this year or they're not. If they're not then playing against the best will let them know where they need to be. Sometimes you can't make the adjustments or sacrifices necessary to win a championship without learning a lesson.

OKC lost to Dallas last year because Dallas played better as a team. Dallas didn't have a clear talent advantage they just played better. The Spurs are a similar challenge this year, but if you're an OKC fan you have to be encouraged by the playoff games you've seen thus far.

Concerns are a good thing. Concerns keep you humble as an observer and focused as a player.

I suppose it's human nature to look ahead, but there is something to be said for being in the now. Game 2 versus the Lakers tonight. There is plenty to be concerned and excited about.

Clearly the Clippers

Spurs are far more complete.

yeah, getting way ahead of yourselves. not saying you will lose the series to the Lakers just that it is never a good idea to dismiss any team before the series is over.
as a Lakers fan this is the worst nightmare for me since my second favorite team is The Thunder. :-?

as far as the next match up, let me tell you it is always better to defeat the superior team at its best than to be looked as the champs that took the short cut. look at Miami now. they already get a lot of well deserved criticism because of Rose getting injured and how they are being handed the EC.

Historically you will want to claim that you defeated the best at their best instead of "you got lucky you didn't play against_____". Can't leave doubt in the mind of the haters. 8-)

besides games are more exiting when you don't know the outcome of the series in advance.

good luck to OKC!

well, the question is moot now,,,but i prefer to see okc amped and prepared for sa because i don't think they would respect lac. i'd like to qualify that by saying at this level all teams would be taken seriously especially since the okc finds themselves really reallyso close that they can taste it. but i think in general i still find it hard to take lac seriously and would not be surprised if many teams felt that way.

that might be one reason why lac has beaten okc, but also it may be one of those things in sports that a lesser team just understands the better team and how to play them.....it happens.

lastly, the potential of losing to lac is ghastly!
x...dallas
x...lakers

would be a classic run for the ages.

That's like majority of the winners in the last 10 years. With at least a few of their players still on those teams.

Seems like SAS will have another sweep vs LAC.

They're so good to watch on offence.
