Player of the Game - WCF, Game 3 vs Spurs (102-82 W)

Post#1 » by BIG EDDIE » Fri Jun 1, 2012 3:37 am

I think Westbrook played very well, not necessarily showing up in the stat sheets, but he controlled the game all night long.
Durant was Durant.
Harden was good as well.
But Thabo gets my vote this time, as he played outstanding defense and had a great impact on the offensive end as well.
Good team effort in general, with 23 assists, 14 steals and only 7 turnovers!
Life may not be the party we hoped for but while we are here we might as well dance!

Everyone got the votes right, has to be thabo. Westbrook was pesky on defence but thabo set the mood.

Is it just me or he doesn't seem to be much shorter than Durant? Thabo doesn't seem to be much shorter..

Thabo has long arms too but he is dedinitely shorter than Durant. KD is 6-10 (although listed at 6-9) and thabo is 6-7. I will search for a picture to show the difference.

Thabo was by far the player of the game. I loved how Scotty Brooks switched things up on defense and had him guard Parker. Also, his 19 points were huge as Harden, Durant and Westbrook had off nights shooting the ball.

Here's a great article on his game: http://www.hoopsaddict.com/sefolosha-st ... homa-city/

I understood that KD is bigger but it doesnt seem to be like the 2-3 inches that i thought he had on thabo. >6'9 vs 6'7"

Here is some "proof".

Image

Some sources say that Thabo has a wingsan of 7'2", while Durant has almost 7'5".
Thabo has long arms and he also has a straight upper body, thats another reason why he looks bigger on the court.

If you're curious, here is how Thunder players measure against each other in height and wingspan:

height wing span
Durant 6'10"" 7'5"
Thabo 6'7" 7'2"
Harden 6'5" 6'10"
Collison 6'10" 7'1"
Perk 6'10" 7'4"
Ibaka 6'10" 7'4"
Reggie Jackson 6'3" 7'0"
Maynor 6'2" 6'3"
Westbrook 6'3" 6'8"

Not sure how accurate those number are, but clearly Durant, Thabo and Reggie have amazing wingspans, while Collison, Westbrook and especially Maynor are rather short.

Im actually not sure if Ibaka and Perkins have really that big of a wingspan...maybe.

Wow, pretty sure i remember seeing them much closer during the game just now. More like Thabo head was at Durant's hairline. Not a huge noticable gap like this.

I think Durant is taller than Ibaka/Perkins now.

Maynor's look so normal compared to their's
