Kobe and Wade are on downsides of their careers. Harden might arguably be the most desired SG right now.

How does that make you better than the Lin, Gallo, and Wil fans who root for them over NY?

"Jerk""weasel""hope he gets injured""... what are you, a ten year old girl?
I'd like to see you turn down $20 million that you earned through hard work.
Please stop making threads, it's just sad.

He has the right to do that, but I am just saying if he is offered $52 M for 4 years....or about $13.3 M a year, and he turns it down since he wants $15 M a year, than 10% more money is worth more than your love for your team and fans.
Alternatively, that 10% less outweighed what Harden was worth to the management, including the sacrifices he made coming off the bench, taking less shots etc. Hows that for loyalty and love for your players?
The Thunder are very profitable, and made $30-50M last year. Their owner is worth billions. And Harden is the greedy one?
Good for Harden. He stood up for what he was worth. If you do a "favor" taking less, what favors will the team do you for? In all likelihood, they'll turn around and trade you once their tax bill gets too high.
I don't know where you get your profit numbers for the OKC owners .............. but they spent $50 million plus to get out of Seattle, this on top of over paying for the Sonics by what Forbes says , could be another $100 mill. They deserve the chance to get that money back.
But really, you got it all wrong, most large market teams can not afford to pay three max players and another near max. NYC, LA, Boston ............. that's about the only markets who can do that.
Thunder did what they had to do for the future well being of the franchise. Rather than shoot their wad for one year shot at a Champ, they choose to be very good for the next several years.
AHAHAHAHAHAH they deserve nothing for stealing the sonics! Don't kill me

The curse of being a small market team and Presti's luck running out.
He overpaid both Perkins and Ikaba with Perkins being dead money.
End of a myth!

They must have decided that Harden was the most replaceable of the three. Lamb is a good prospect, and you'll have picks/trade chips to go after a decent big to pair with Ibaka. It's a reasonable move.
This is a pretty good point. At the end of the day, the salary cap is going to force teams with talent to make decisions they don't want to make. I don't think there has to be a bad guy on either side, for the team and player to part ways.
Both sides ultimately had to assess the dollars and cents side of it, as well as the other factors we all wish were the only ones that mattered in sports.

I bet the threadstarter feels like a complete idiot now. Looks like Harden deserved that contract and Its looks like OKC was the one that let down Harden only giving him 60 minutes to decide.
Yeah Harden's the jerk.
Horrible thread, you must feel just terrible now.

Felt like this needed a revive. At this point in the season I'm extremely happy both with where we are as a franchise and with harden getting paid. I wish he was still on this team but I fully support the move presti made, it's given us the flexibility to explore trade options and Kmart has indicated that he is fine taking a pay cut if we're competing for championships. From my perspective both the rockets and thunder made a good move.
“If you're getting stops and you're making threes and the other team's not scoring, that's when you're going to see a huge point difference there,” coach Billy Donovan said.

Wishing injuries on a guy? That sucks OP.
Harden is a good guy, and he made the right choice. He'll be an all-star, and he gets paid like a star. Both teams benefited greatly. Morey keeps his job and gets an all-star. The Thunder got a replacement for now, a future replacement, and a fantastic asset in the Raps pick.
