I want to agree with you, especially in the playoffs we've seen how well those 2 can work together, i'm trying to think of an example where there was no defined point guard like what were talking about here. BUT without the 2 guard being a dominant scorer (D.Wade, J.Johnson and etc.) that has worked, If anybody can come up with one that would be great. But I hope you're right and that we make that 2-headed monster.

not all championship teams have had great pg's. and there were many that had only adequate pg play. like,,,i think the 1984 celts had adequate guard play,,,buckner, ainge, johnson, and henderson(i wiki'ed the roster). no great pg, no great shooters. mainly iirc, ainge was a scrappy pain in the @ss and johnson was the D specialist. none had the potential like westy and harden, individually or as a duo, imo. but they had bird, parrish, mchale, and maxwell,,,and okc has nothing like that. :D the bullets had,,meh. westy/harden can become better than what houston had...what'd they have, kenny smith and sam cassell???

by comparison, the rest of okc is still incomplete, but the westy/harden duo certainly works for me. look down the roster and i say "omg" how did okc do it. i like maynor, but ivey and cook? presti really has to work on the role players,,,,,they're woeful.

as right as you are about the teams, the teams that won rings in the 80's are much diferent than the ones who win one now. But I defintely see your point. I don't think we need a great point guard to win. Just one who can do his role If Russell average 18pts, 8ast, 6rebs 2.5 steals a game with about 46% shooting, I would be ecstatic. but that would mean we have more scoring on the team. I agree that we are complete and need better role players but is that Presti's style? I think with the Perkins deal he changed his look a bit going for more experience over youth. So maybe we can get a better balance this summer. But we do need better role players. Or we could just trade Russ for Drose, and sign D12 and call ourselves the new Big 3. :D

What about Russel Westbrook for John Wall? I think Wall would be perfect for OKC. He is a real PG.

Steph's outside shooting and decision making would be a perfect fit next to Durant/Harden/Ibaka. Udoh can bulk up a bit to be the Nazr and eventually Perkins replacement. Steph may not have the athletic upside of Westbrook, but he's much less likely to end up as the next Marbury/Steve Francis either.

GSW won't..probably can't add Udoh. There's no surplus of bigs on hand or to be had. Not sure why Maynor came up...Curry is a PG. I doubt either team is doing this now, but someday they might.

I'm in the pro-Westbrook camp, but that's very Intriguing.

Wall would average about 15 apg with the Thunder.

This is actually a very interesting deal. I can literally see a valid argument for both sides. While the potential of Westbrook is tremendous and may warrant holding onto him, trading for Steph may give our offense a more mature floor general that may bring out the best in Harden and Durant, and even jump start Ibaka's offense. Having a true PG would be nice, but Russel may prove to be a stud.

Would GS consider throwing in a 1st rounder for Russel? That may make the deal sweeter. Gaining Russel would allow Ellis to run the point and Westbrook to play his natural position at SG. Not a bad deal. Udoh would be nice but I don't see them throwing him in and with Ibaka, Udoh does not make or break the deal.

What are your thoughts on maybe working some picks into this trade? Dorrel Wright?

It's actually an interesting deal because you'd be hard pressed to find one sane Thunder fan who would support it. I guess a Kevin Durant for Danny Granger trade idea is 'interesting' in the same way.

Stephen Curry is better than Westbrook on screens and shooting that's about it. Westbrook even has a higher assist rate than him. We won't even get into the defensive side of things where Westbrook has the size (if not the inclination, so far) to hold his own while Curry gets beat up like a rag doll.

I would do it though 15 APG is an insane overreaction.

And not a single defensive f*ck was given that day.
“If you're getting stops and you're making threes and the other team's not scoring, that's when you're going to see a huge point difference there,” coach Billy Donovan said.
