Sixers fan here
Just read some rumor about Okc being potential destination for Turner. They showed interest in Turner.
I think the rumor said something like Thabo, Jackson, and Okc first round?
What do you think about that?
As a Sixers fan I would rather prefer if they include Lamb or Dallas first round.
Just want to see what you guys think.

Re: Evan Turner
There's a bit of discussion on this in the general trade thread, but here's my comments from that thread:
Personally, I'd love to get Turner... however, it seems very counter to the way the team has been run. He's a guy that is quickly approaching a big contract summer, and with the numbers he's been putting up early this season, it is probably going to be a big one. I feel like this would really open us up to even more criticism, because if you're trading much of value for him, I would assume you're doing it with the intent to resign him. If you resign him for say 10 mil/season, or even 8 mil/season... It really seems like they should have just signed Harden then.
On the how to make it work side... it seems pretty easy. Open roster spot, big enough TPE, and some combination of draft picks should be an appealing enough package for a team that Turner has pretty much come out and said he isn't going to be with long term. I just don't know how it works as far as long-term cap implications. They would have to give up salary or amnesty Perk in order to avoid the lux tax this season and then they're long-term screwed if they want to keep some combination of Lamb, Jackson, and Turner with KD, Russ, and Serge. - See more at: viewtopic.php?f=334&t=1148153&start=1020#sthash.uCeayghM.dpuf

Me being a Sixers fan, I wouldn't want to do it unless they offer us Lamb and Dallas 1st round. Highly unlikely though.
How do you feel about giving up Lamb and Dallas first round for Turner?

I wouldn't give up Sefolosha Jackson and a 1st for Turner. I would give up Lamb and a 1st though.

Re: Evan Turner
I just really can't see it happening because of the money side of the equation. Lamb is exactly what they're going for with 3 seasons left on his rookie deal. I don't see them going into the lux cap for Turner this year, only to have to turn around and pay him significantly more next year.
Talent-wise, fit-wise, etc. I would be okay with Lamb or Jackson and Dallas's first for Turner. I really do feel like he's a good fit for the team and we could really use him.

Re: Evan Turner
I'm more concerned with the money aspect that what we are giving up.
I think Turner will get above MLE money and i don't see how we can fit that unless the plan is to move perkins eventually next season either via amnesty or trade (more asset used).
If we trade for turner, i probably send thabo and dallas pick or lamb assuming we can afford to resign him.
That's about it.

Re: Evan Turner
As mentioned by many of the above posters, while Turner would be a good fit basketball skill wise, money wise it probably just wouldn't work. I think the guy may get over $10 million per year (obviously depends on what kind of year he has), and I believe there is very little chance of OKC signing him to a deal like that.
Perkins seemingly has some type of blackmail material on the coaches and front office staff, so they can't get rid of him. So they would have to trade Ibaka, and they probably don't want to do that. And the owners are cheap. So I don't know how he could fit long term salary wise (unless he only made maybe $6 million per year).

owners are cheap...
http://www.hoopsworld.com/nba-team-salary-totals
Only teams spending more are...in no particular order...
Miami
New York
Brooklynn
LAC
LAL
Chicago
Boston
I bet the 3rd smallest market in the NBA finishes better then AT LEAST 5 of these teams.

My evidence that the "owners are cheap" is them not signing Harden. While I like OKC, I am more of a general NBA fan. I just like to see good basketball. Thinking people with brains could see that OKC had a potentially historic team if they had kept Harden and let them develop together. Could of been historically good basketball for fans to watch.
So if they weren't cheap why did they trade him? Or are you just saying that they aren't cheap now?

I don't disagree the Durant, Westbrook, Harden combo was fun to watch...and hard to go back and watch now...
I don't think they have been cheap then or now. Thunder is not going to go over the tax consecutive years to hit the big repeater penalty. It's not a surprise that the teams going over the tax are large market teams with huge TV deals.
I've yet to see a decent scenario where keeping Harden would have worked. It is easy to see Prestis vision in 1 yr of Martin and a TPE after, rookie Lamb, lottery pick (Adams), Abrines, a future Dallas first and getting rid of millions of useless bench warmers in Cook, Hayward, and Aldrich.

I wouldn't mind a trade for Turner. Much higher upside and better all around game than Jackson, younger and more versatile than Thabo. Thabo I think is fading anyway, so it would be nice to get some value out of him before it's too late. Jacksons game infuriates me at times.
