Re: Is a Thabo trade/extension inevitable?
I think Roberson and PJ3 are the answer/deciding factor to losing Thabo. If either one can play the backup sf minutes effectively, a 3 guard rotation is very plausible. 96 minutes/3=32 minutes. It isn't always that simple but assuming they are all healthy Westbrook, Jackson and Lamb can all play 32 minutes. Depth just becomes an issue really if one goes down. Losing the ability to go small for extended minutes, depth and defense is what you lose by letting Thabo walk. I think PJ3 can already play those minutes and going super small with Fisher is dumb anyways. So it basically comes down to depth and defense vs tax.

Yeap, if one of Roberson/PJ3 is getting some minutes in the rotation, we can go with a 3 guard rotation of Russ/RJ/Lamb and then have a minimum salary or below 3m player behind them.
There's the question of when/if Abrines is coming over as well?
Anyone following the progress of Abrines and Pleiss overseas? Latavious Williams is in spain as well right?

According to draftexpress, which isn't the most credible source, he tried to tank his value so he wouldn't go in the first round and be stuck on a rookie scale. But draftexpress also said Adams has tiny hands and Ibaka probably doesn't know his own age....
Pleiss is averaging like 15ppg and is probably the more likely of the 2 to come over since he doesn't pay for a team that is loaded.
I'd bet on OKC drafting a a pg/sg this year in the draft unless a PJ3 type situation happens. A player like Barbosa can also be signed for vet's minimum as a 4th/5th guard.

Yea, was thinking someone like Barbosa situation for 4th guard next season assuming Thabo walks. I don't see an SF backup being viable due to PJ3 playing + Lamb can slide over abit, so unless someone offensively gifted PF/C can drop to us, it'll probably be a guard.
I think he probably will stay another season tbh, if RJ is traded will we bring him over?
