bynum waived. Should we pursue?

Bynum has just been waived by the Bulls. Should we pursue? With Adams down, and Perkins being useless, he is really an upgrade over anything else we have.

I rather take him over Perkins. And I don't want to see him with MIA... If Bunum goes to MIA, it's going to be hard to stop that team. Just look at Beasley....

Low risk very high reward in my opinion. We could sign him for roughly 2 million and stay under the tax. If he pans out then we have a top 5 center in the league. If he doesn't, who cares, were back to where we are now.

One reason why Id see the thunder not doing it is because of his attitude and work ethic, but being around KD Fish and Russ I think he would change and turn out to be really good for us.

I like that sentiment.

The reason Bynum was able to be kept in check and be productive while with the Lakers was because they were contending for titles and he would be in trouble with Kobe and Phil Jackson if he pulled his nonsense. He didn't have that in Philadelphia and especially in Cleveland where there was nobody to be held accountable to for messing around.

In OKC, he has people like Westbrook and Durant along with Fisher to be held accountable to. If I were Presti, I would give him league minimum for this year with a team option for the 2nd with incentives. This along with competing for the titles should get the most out of him and you only gotta play him 10-15 minutes like the way he was in Cleveland and this may put them over the hump who knows? What do they got to lose here anyways?

I agree with the contract offer, we just waive Thabeet and give him some of Perks minutes unless Bynum is not affective.

Oh yea and don't forget Bynum and his agent knows that this type of deal would really be his last shot in the NBA and if he pulls the crap he did in Cleveland and Philadelphia, well it's over not to say it really hasn't been already. If he plays well enough then great use him as a stopgap while Adams develops because some dumb team will give Bynum a bad contract and he knows this.

Yes. We absolutely should.
Ive actually seen Adam's play the four this year and hes not bad. With those two on the floor, we could have a twin towers situation and our big man depth would be unrivaled. That being said, i wouldnt want to sign him long term, especially if it means having to give up Adams, Collison, Thabo, etc.

J. Rose did a good job of addressing this.

His attitude would not be a concern given he wont be the leader. We already have established leaders and his personality will not over shadow theirs.
That being said another thing Rose described was what we will most likely end up seeing. "Hes doing what we ask him to do. Hes looking good on the court" "8 points 8 rebounds on the Cavs or Bulls is whatever. But 8 points 8 rebounds on the Spurs, Thunder, Heat, looks pretty good"

Wouldn't surprise me, but eventually he'd have to go for less.
