I don't really feel like he's "choking" as continuing his glide path downward. It's been a couple of years since he was a top-flight defender. The more perplexing part to me has been the decreased 3pt shooting %. He was 44% 2 seasons ago, 42% last season, and 32% this season. Luckily we can bring in Lamb to supplement the long-range shooting, but with his defense not being as potent, it really gives people a lot of doubt to how we can still start him (and Perk for that matter). The best argument at this point is that we can't have a bench lineup of Perk, Collison, PJ3, Thabo, and Fisher (OUCH), so they have to keep starting so that Lamb and to a lesser extent Adams can make the offense better off of the bench.

....... He seems to be doing what he has always done. The guy has never been a huge scorer but his value is clearly in his defense. The defense he brings to the table is utterly amazing. When they made the Finals i had never seen a player effectively guard so many higher talented players.
Hopefully we can convince him to stay and resign him at 4-5 for 2 or 3 more seasons. Keep him until Lamb is developed enough to really take that 2 spot for 36 minutes a game. Which honestly i think will be next season but Thabo's defense could really help us.

Im more concerned with our third string 1/2. Fisher is going to retire after this season and there are not many players in the NBA who would give us the same he does. I was actually thinking we could go after J. Jack but man, he signs for 6 mill a year for 3 more seasons. Aside from him, i dont know who else could bring the "having a coach on the floor" type point guard. Kidd's gone. Billups will probably retire after this season.... actually..... if he does not we could definitely go for him. I guess Andre Miller would be an option too but i dont think he would be reasonable to pick up. He signs for quite a bit yes?

He is declining steadly. His defense is not good this season, and his shot is really bad right now.

Lamb should go up for 28 mpg at least next season, if not 30+ in the starting 5. Actually, he really shuld have these minutes now. Thunder is changing.

I don't think his defense is declining or down this season with the exception of the fact that he seems to take a nonmarquee games a little lightly. He has lost all confidence in his 3 point shot though. If they can get on a hot streak, maybe his confidence can come back. He used to turn down open looks a lot in the past but now hes taken that to a whole different level. A large part of OKC's offense is to take the open shot off rotations, and they need him to catch and shoot.

Lamb looks primed to start next season, but with Westbrook out he needs to be coming off the bench to give the 2nd unit some scoring. He would without a doubt be a great fit with the first team but his scoring ability is more important coming off the bench.
