Lamb is soo lights out!
This kids three point shooting is flat out amazing. this kid has an amazing stroke. I see a ray allen type career for this kid. Is that a stretch?

I wouldn't call it a stretch, they were both coached by the Calhoun and practice together on the off season at UCONN.

Re: Lamb is soo lights out!
I think it is possible. He's already a good shooter and seems to have picked up the confidence that he was lacking early in the season. In his prime Ray was a pretty amazing all-around offensive player, so Lamb obviously have some wide ground to make up in several facets of his game.
Outside of just getting better at everything, the biggest thing he needs now is the ability to handle the ball. This is even more critical with the team's current situation. Jackson is going to play a lot of minutes now, but when he's out there is not another NBA-SG-quality ballhandler, let alone a backup PG. Tonight (vs Rockets), it seemed like when Jackson was out and Durant wasn't playing point, that everyone was trying not to have to be the guy that brought the ball up. Fisher is not anywhere near that level at this point in his career and Lamb was 100% deferring to him, to the point that he looked like a center looking for a guard a few times.
For a bit of perspective though... While everyone's career trajectory varies greatly, Ray AVERAGED almost the same number of points in his 2nd season that Lamb just put up in his career high performance.

Re: Lamb is soo lights out!
I'd say his ball handling is ok, which you ca see by his turnover rate, it's just under-utilized, which is fine by me since we have Westbrook, Jackson and Durant to handle the ball. We don't need him to attack the rim and get calls with Durant. Westbrook and Jackson are the ones with responsibility to draw more fouls.
I say continue giving minutes to the guy. He's picked up already a good defensive game for his age with his lenght, athleticism and patience. When Westbrook is back, continue giving the man 20-25+ minutes a night and let the boy fly to check if he's good enough to start next season, specially given Sefo will be a free agent.
I was high on him, and saw top 5 SG potential on him, but now this sounds so realistic. 16 points per 36 on limited usage is exactly what our starting line up always needed. So glad he's not disappointing.

Can you really call this his second season thought? he played in like 5 games most of them were the final 2 minutes.

Nah, I think he benefitted a lot from "redshirting" last season, just like Jackson did in 2011-12.
Harden would have redshirted in 09/10 if the Thunder were as good as we've been since 11/12.

Yes you can call it his second season.... because its his second season.
I told everyone that the OKC/Rockets trade was better for us then it was the Rockets.
Of course a lot of people wrote this off as me simply being an OKC fan without realizing i generally have little biases. I have no problems admitting the problems my teams have. That being said, as a result of that trade we now have Jackson developing in a way that i dont think we would have seen had we kept Harden. We have Lamb who looks like he is going to be one of the best pure shooters int he NBA in the next two or three seasons. And as a bonus we got Adam's, who has been very impressive this season and i actually have hope that we can get rid of freaking Perkins, keep Perkin's defensive and low post abilities, but add Adam's offensive abilities.
I dunno... as an OKC fan im glad to see Lamb doing exactly what we thought he would.

Re: Lamb is soo lights out!
James Harden may be a superior player and have higher ceiling, but Lamb's skillset, if well developed, is a better complement to Durant and Westbrook, specially if we always have a combo guard like Jackson to handle the second unit.

This.
Ray Allen is the all time leader in 3s. Lamb is a good young player, but its his 2nd year. Great game for him, but take a breath.

I don't see any reason why Lamb or really Beal or Klay Thompson couldn't have a Ray Allen like career. No one is saying Lamb is better than prime Ray Allen, but all the tools to be an elite player at his position are clearly there.
Ray Allen's 3 point record is a function of how many years he has played. He is a career 40% shooter, good but not something unachievable at all. He definitely isn't the best 3 point shooter to ever play. When you break it down Ray Allen was a 2 time all-nba player in 17 years and was a third option or lower on his championship teams. I don't see any reason why Lamb couldn't achieve that in his career.

I would hope so. If Russ is out for a while thats 20/25 a game we are losing. We need "scorers" to step up. Guys like Jackson, Butler and Lamb.

I don't know that Butler needs to shoot any more than he is at this point... Honestly without Russ, Lamb and Collison are about the only guys that should increase shot attempts.
