MVP- KEVIN DURANT
Lets give this boy some props man. He got the MVP solidified. I mean, to me he got that wrapped up a couple of months ago. But then people was saying how Lebron was on a run. Lebron was on a run, but i checked KD's numbers during that run, and it was just as good. I'm happy we got a new MVP representin this league, and who better than KD. They don't come humbler than this dude, im telling you. This dude can ball and he's a good person so it's hard not to cheer for a guy like this. Lebron is great, gotta respect that dude but it's about time someone takes over. I'm sick and tired of hearing about Lebron every year. Someone had to steal the spotlight, and im happy its KD. He got the MVP, NOW LETS GO GET THAT RING!

I have this gut feeling Thunder fans would like to believe. When Karl Malone "took Michael Jordan's" season MVP, Malone went to NBA Championship, so I have this lingering feeling in back of my head, that KD repeats this. I mean MVP use to mean you and your team were for sure Conference Final worthy. If this KD is better than LeBron, and the old KD who went to Championship, than I know for sure Thunder are NBA Final bound!
I have always seen KD as this era's Malone. No matter what they do, they will always be #2 to someone else! Even though lots of people believe otherwise, especially fans of their team, it doesn't change popular opinion. The worst thing is, if you have no rings, then no one gives you good enough credit for being a legend. I don't want that for Durant, I want him to at least get this 1 ring over LeBron. 1 ring is enough to change history for KD. If Malone had 1 ring, he would have had that 1 thing over MJ, on top of all those records.

I certainly understand what you're saying... but from many perspectives, people consider both Malone the best prototype PF ever and Stockton the best pure PG ever. I think fans are able to see past simply the number of rings next to a player's name. (I know I certainly am when evaluating whether or not Derrick Fisher should be in the game!)

Re: MVP- KEVIN DURANT
The difference between this season and Malone's MVP is that nobody can look at this season and say 'voter fatigue.' Objectively there is nothing you can point to and say' 'this is why Lebron should've won.'
“If you're getting stops and you're making threes and the other team's not scoring, that's when you're going to see a huge point difference there,” coach Billy Donovan said.
