I had the absolute pleasure of witnessing Hasheem's dialogue with fans during the Pacers/Thunder game in Indy last week. I have to say that, despite the Thunder easily being my favorite team in the league, watching Thabeet's calculated interactions with fans... challenging them to fights after the games, laughing with them about plays, etc. I have to say that Thabeet is the one untouchable on the team. Westbrook sat on the bench and swore at the refs. Perk stood up and disparaged the other team. Thabeet never had anything but the most happy thoughts in his heart as he joked with the fans all night. Almost like an NBA game wasn't even happening :)

Thabeet is one of my favorite 'players'. That said...if Pleiss comes over, do the Thunder ride with 4 Centers and 2 players that can play PF / C?

I really didn't want the Dal pick this year...we don't need more young exciting talent sitting on the bench.

HOWEVER the pick makes a Perk trade, or Jackson trade (assuming either come to it...which I don't see happening) interesting.

This is what I'm hoping for too.

Ideally...

We move Jackson + Perkins for Affalo
Get Gasol to replace Perkins Role. I'm alright if Pleiss come over next season or two season time though.
We draft 1 pick for keep the other for an international stash.
Let thabo walks, sign butler for cheap, we can free up minutes with Fisher retiring.
Increase lamb's minutes and role. Sign one cheapish wing (Miles/Rush etc) if need be.

Cap space.
Take Perk and the pick fo a TPE

I said for the 21st I didn't know you had the 1st pick .....No way the Mavs take on Perkins for #21

I would take on 10m in dead expiring for any top 10 pick...That said, if Perkins + 21 is moved, i believe we definitely have to take back a 4-5m expiring at the minimum. Maybe a smaller multi year deal but something in that ballpark.

I really don't see a situation where it would be beneficial to us to package a pick with Perk to shed his salary. He has one year remaining, we aren't going to be under the cap to take advantage of losing his salary, and if the goal is to stay out of the lux tax, then we can just amnesty him. If they were interested in shedding his contract just for the sheer financial benefit, they could have done it a year or two ago when it made some sense. Now, it seems dumb to throw away a 1st round pick to not really benefit the team in any way.

We're only moving him if we want to go under the tax and not pay amnesty. It would have taken more than the late first we have to move him a year or two ago.

As a Magic fan, there is no way this is happening. Zero %.
You guys could get AA, but in know way are the Magic taking Perk. We just bought out BBD for less, no way we'd take Perk and his $$$.

I hope these draft picks are good and Thabo/Perk can just go off into the sunset. I wouldn't be surprised if Lamb doesn't come back. Brooks has yet to play him or PJII this postseason.

Lamb has two years left on his contract...
“If you're getting stops and you're making threes and the other team's not scoring, that's when you're going to see a huge point difference there,” coach Billy Donovan said.

No other guy for us to match salaries though.

I agree.
I wont give up Jackson for AA.
Lamb + the 2 firsts + cash exemption.

But i would like to point out that Perkins would be expiring for the Magic, so his salary does not matter.
Right now the Magic are rebuilding and wanting to shed cap. So expiring contracts are a good thing, but i personally think they would be fine with an exemption, simply having the cap being paid by someone else essentially.

The Magic have 20 Mil in cap space, I don't think we are searching more cap space out. If so, we could just sell low on AA.
The Lamb offer, I'd prob. do, (maybe switch out the worse 1st rounder for a future 1st). But I think I'm in the minority of wanting to keep VO at the PG position.

Yeah, I woulnd't give up nearly that for AA. Maybe Lamb and one first, but that's as far as I'd go. Orlando wouldn't do it most likely, but AA's going to be expiring and looking for a pay day.
