Note: I am not a Thunder fan.
After watching the Thunder struggle through the playoffs these past several years I've come to the same conclusion many have come to: Their offense is a bit too pedestrian and lacks the flow and ball movement to do consistent and easy damage in the postseason. However, while I'm not a fan of Scott Brooks I think he receives too much criticism. I don't think he is the problem with the team offense, I think it's a bit more simple. I think the problem has more to do with the personnel. Russell Westbrook, Kevin Durant, and Serge Ibaka are going to be great offensively regardless. The place where the Thunder need help is on the fringes. Guys like Steven Adams, Nick Collison, Reggie Jackson, and Jeremy Lamb (at times) are very solid but haven't proven to be live options in the way guys like Kawhi Leonard, Boris Diaw, and Danny Green are for the Spurs.
I think the fix for the Thunder is simple. Two words: Kyle Korver. I think the simple addition of a devastating three point shooter that can take the pressure off Russ and KD when they are being swarmed would fundamentally change how the team is defended and would terrorize the league. Sefolosha was open from three quite a bit in the postseason but his slower, more methodical release gave the defense time to close out and he wasn't able to be as effective a release valve as the Thunder needed.
If Kyle Korver were on the Thunder it would create hell for defenses. He is one of only a few players in the NBA that absolutely CANNOT be left open from three and the defensive attention he garners coming off screens and moving without the ball would only make it that much easier for the rest of the team. While he is not as great a defender as Sefolosha was, he is still an above average team defender and his offense would give the Thunder an option they never had before.
I truly believe that if Korver were on the Thunder they would instantly be a championship team. I also think that depending on the assets the Thunder are willing to give up they could acquire Korver without too much stress.

Is this Jim Traber?
But ya, Korver would be great. Unfortunately he's on another NBA team and it seems pretty unlikely that we could ever pull off a trade with them.

I have faith in Morrow.
8th all-time in 3PT percentage.
Only active players with a better career 3PT percentage is Curry and Stev Novak.
Literally just came off a season of shooting 45% from 3.

I thought CJ Miles would have been the perfect fit for this team along with Varejao. It's too bad CJ ended up in Indiana. I'm thrilled Varejao didn't get waived from the Cavs, but I would have loved to see him on the thunder if he had been waived. Gallo and Hickson could be interesting additions if okc can swing a deal with Denver.
