Trade Kevin Durant? This is seriously trending in the media?

Post#1 » by Hobes » Wed Mar 11, 2015 12:45 pm

I honestly can't believe what I'm seeing. Multiple news outlets are seriously writing/discussing about how the OKC Thunder should consider trading KD due to the play of Russell Westbrook. I mean seriously... this has to be the dumbest thing I have heard/read in my entire sports fandom, perhaps even my life.

I know the media are desperate to generate stories, but this is just trash. Quite appalling in my opinion.

/Rant

Skip Bayless also discussing "Is KD now Robin and Westbrook is Batman"..... How about they are both great players and they have the perfect skills to co-exist as we have seen...

Royce Young summed it up perfectly when he said that you don't trade players like Durant even if they are upcoming free agents (ie - LeBron in Miami last season), you keep at them until the 11th hour to re-sign.

Even if KD walked up to Presti and told him that he wasn't going to resign there still wouldn't be a trade. You take your last shot at winning a title then deal with the fallout. There is no chance you could get anywhere near an equal value in return. However, I will laugh really hard if KD decides to just shut the media up and sign an extension this off-season even though it would be a year shorter than if he waited until next off-season and probably end up being for significantly less money after the cap goes up when the new TV deal kicks in. Just to clarify I don't think there is any chance that KD does that, but if it were to somehow happen I would laugh as the media freaked out about it.

It's almost like Presti isn't an idiot. I'm shocked, SHOCKED I say!
“If you're getting stops and you're making threes and the other team's not scoring, that's when you're going to see a huge point difference there,” coach Billy Donovan said.

Ludicrous idea of trading the second best player in the world. People need to stop believing what the media says.

If it comes to trading him or losing him, keep the Celtics in mind.

Marcus Smart + Jared Sullinger + expirings + 3 first round picks (including 2 unrestricted Brooklyn picks in 2016 and 2018). Just saying.
