He went to a place where he can be happy. I sincerely hope he can be the rookie of the year this time.

Going to get a lot of minutes. Do well, Broccoli Mouse. Show them you don't have a ceiling.

Ended up liking the kid in spite of myself. I hope he becomes a Darren collison type, he was a great teammate and didn't complain even when foye unfairly took his minutes.
“If you're getting stops and you're making threes and the other team's not scoring, that's when you're going to see a huge point difference there,” coach Billy Donovan said.

What are you guys' thoughts on him as a prospect?

Just a copypasta of what I said elsewhere, but:

Cam's got off to a rough start after injury this year but was great in SL and last year brought the bench to life. He's got a streaky 3 and a nice little floater he shows but this whole season he's gotten no real flow yet since coming back. Not a terrible defender, not great, but I still think he's at least a solid backup.

This is not what I saw coming last trade deadline. We were on a 20-4 run with Cam playing great and then he got Foye'd. Was never the same afterwards.

Saw him at the Blue White scrimmage before last season and thought we really had a player. Alas, the inconsistent minutes and the foot injury side tracked his Thunder career. Here's hoping he can get it together in Chicago.

If you think about it, Kerr's comments about Durant not getting the ball enough and us suddenly going after Randy Foye to get Durant the ball with the 2nd unit might have ended Payne's career before it even began. Who knows what could have happened if he'd had continued playing and would have been solid in the Playoffs.

I don't think there's any way you can have your minutes taken by Randy Foye and have it not be unfair. Presti and Donovan screwed Payne there. Benched for one of the worst players in the league.

Anyway. Best of luck to him. Incredibly fun to watch when he's on with his funny little jumpshot. Hopefully he gets plenty of opportunities so he can have a good shot at proving himself.
