Interesting Article on Dougie McBuckets

From the Oklahoma City paper this morning. Doug McDermott is hell bent on getting better as a player and wants to stay in OKC for the long haul.

Good attitude, good work ethic, marginal talent. Unfortunately that's a recurring theme for this roster.
“If you're getting stops and you're making threes and the other team's not scoring, that's when you're going to see a huge point difference there,” coach Billy Donovan said.

If McDermott is the 11th or 12th guy on your roster then it isn't a problem. The issue is that right now he is the best SF under contract, unless you want to argue for Singler, and the 6th/7th/8th best guy on the roster depending on how you view certain players. I'm not counting Roberson or Taj who are not currently under contract for next year.

I'm extremely on board with trying to bring in more wings and letting McBuckets play some 4.

"And though that transition was bumpy at times – there was new terminology to study, new teammates to meet, a coach and system to learn on the fly – McDermott's chief regret, he said, is that the trade didn't happen earlier in the season"

Donovan: 'Okay Dougie, welcome to the team. Now what we're gonna get you to do is stand in the corner.'

Dougie: 'Okay, when do I run around offball? Who gives me screens to get me open for a catch and shoot?'

Donovan: 'what'

Honestly, we ran more off ball action for Doug than we have anyone that isn't an anthropomorphized cupcake.
