Most of us are just desperate for happiness. For some that means believing this team is built for the playoffs. For others it’s hoping we salvage something by missing the playoffs.

I just kinda stopped caring. I hate to say it but I've become indifferent. There's no way out unless George stays.

I’m not sure how George staying helps if Melo isn’t gone.

Can't hurt.

Maybe Donovan goes.

Don't even know but I can blindly hope. I keep looking at Houston being .500 in 2016 and changing coaches.

Does a coaching change get PG to stay? Does PG staying really help the team do any better then .500 next year? What coach is going to turn this team around with Russ and Melo declining, Roberson out for half of next year and a G-League level bench?

1. Don't think Russ is decling.
2. Yes, anyone who can figure out how to stagger and have rational rotations helps.
3. Literally any offense with structure.

Imagine this team with Morey instead of Presti.

Actually no. That's just an exercise in making yourself sad.

I don't think there's any question Russ is declining. He's not going to ever be better than last year, it's just a question of how fast.

As far as a system, I'm not sure to what extent it helps without a drastic roster overhaul to fit a system.
“If you're getting stops and you're making threes and the other team's not scoring, that's when you're going to see a huge point difference there,” coach Billy Donovan said.

Fair. When I say devil ing that's more what I meant. I don't think he's in for a deli e where he's not playing at an elite level for at least a few years. I don't think most top 5 ton10 players will have better years than thyme had but don't consider them declining either (ie I don't see Curry repeating 2016 or Harden this year or even a guy likeKawhi having health questions).

Agree on roster too but I think w a real coach he could be better at least. Don't even know anymore, this season has made me kinda sour on a lot.

Russ has his lowest TS% since '09-'10 and his lowest WS/48 since '09-'10. He is clearly having his worst season since '13-'14. He has had multiple knee procedures. He is 29 which is past his physical prime. He is declining. You can argue the amount and how fast he will decline, but you can't claim his BBIQ will allow him to adjust and maintain his prime play because he has no BBIQ and his skill set is entirely based on his athleticism that is fading. Saying Russ is declining given his age, skills, play style and BBIQ is no different then saying a 19 year old rookie should improve.

i think it's a combination of things. decline perhaps one of them. but his season is such a sharp decline on some things i believe it has to be more than just age or natural erosion. his shot distribution just at a glance aside from the pull-up threes is ideal, more ideal than last year even. he's getting to the rim a lot.

i believe that there's a difference on how teams are playing him. it anecdotally appears to me that he's being given a lot more space on the perimeter than before.

That goes back to the lack of BBIQ and being able to adjust. Teams have changed the way guarded LeBron over the years, but he just laughs as he makes adjustments.
