So does anyone think Russells offense will come back by the playoffs? Even if at 2017-18 Russ level?

Russ has been looking a lot more like old Russ during this streak. He's faster on his drives, blowing by guys, he's even made some dunks and has had some good finishes around the rim. He just looks a lot quicker and more assertive. Even his free throws are marginally better now.

He's still completely controlling games, despite his shooting. George can close. It's nice having 2 superstars. But yeah if anything it'll keep improving, he's way to good for it not to.

Russ is getting worse in all impact stats. He was a 6.8 +/- in January. That is down from November and December. His 3pt shooting "improved" to 29% in January on 4.5 attempts a game. Russ' FT% "improved" to 69% in January which is still bad. Russ shot 39.8% from the field in January, but is 41.8% on the season and his TS% of 47.5 was also lower than his season of 48.2. Yes, Russ is having the occasional game where he shows some self control and puts up a solid shooting line, but those are not often enough to offset Russ being Russ.

No team ever has or ever will make it out of the first round of the playoffs with Russ as their best player. PG's jump gives OKC a chance to make it out of the first round. Hopefully he'll keep being regular season P and avoid the playoff P drop off this year. If PG drops off in the playoffs again OKC will get destroyed because he has to lead the team. It is nice to see Russ acknowledge it as he is deferring to the better player like he did with kd.
