I liked getting Adams more involved in the middle of the defense for some kick outs to the corner. Lead to a lot of open shots/swinging the ball for better shots or drives.

You're either a very deliberate troll or just a clueless idiot. Schröder has no "track record" when it comes to the Playoffs, period.

25/2/8 last playoffs, with 42% from 3, only 1.7 TOV and .226 WS/48. Those are elite starter numbers. Very similar to what he did yesterday.

He'll show you in a couple of weeks what playoff S looks like. Yeah he's been dog%%$ the past few months, but he's come back from Allstar ready to pick up from where he left off last playoffs.

Cool. How about the 481 minutes in his two prior Playoff stints where he shot 41.4 % from the field and 29.0 % from 3 with .025 WS/48 , 48.9 TS% and 96 ORtG? How does that factor into your musings? That's just slightly worse than this season's average for him. Do we ignore that because cherrypicking is more fun?

56 TS% is league average, mind you. It's much more likely that we get 3/14 Schröder all Playoffs long than this imaginary version of him where he turns into Steph Curry. That happens once a month. Chances are we saw that version for the last time this season with the game last night.

Those early playoffs he was just a baby. You expect a guy that young to improve year over year. I don't expect him him to average 25/2/8 like he did the other year because his role is reduced. But I expect him to be throwing the ball at the hoop with reckless abandon come playoff time. He's had a tough time in OKC because he's undersized and there's not enough spacing to open the lane for him. But if his parameter shots keep falling it's going to be good night Irene.

I do too. He's a chucker, after all.

And what are the odds of that happening? He's at 33.8 % from 3 overall - 35.0 % in catch and shoot situations (3.1 3PA per game) and 27.6 % on pull ups (1.2 3PA per game). He ranks above average in spot up situations (70th percentile), but again, there is just so much variance when it comes to his shot making. He very rarely takes less than three 3s a game (less than three 3PA in a single game has just happened nine times this season). 29 times this season he hasn't even made 1/3 of his 3s. 25 times he has made at least 40 % of his 3s. We literally could get "I make everything today" Schröder one game and then "I miss everything" Schröder for the next two. You can somewhat survive that in the regular season, but Schröder could shoot us out of the Playoffs if he keeps chucking even though he's not making anything.

Hate Schroeder all you want, but this team is clearly at its peak when Schroeder is rolling. It takes them to a level that can beat just about anyone. He's not going to do it every game. But is it crazy to think he can do what he did last night 2 or 3 times in a 7 game series? OKC can definately go into any arena and steal homecourt, if they don't end up with hca

Well, duh. Of course a team's ceiling improves when a high volume shot taker makes everything. The main issue is that this doesn't happen all that often and that Schröder's floor is so low, it really hurts the team in the long run. When the guy is off, he is so off, he probably shouldn't even be on the floor.

i watched all hawks playoffs games with schroeder. in the series against wall, schroeder whas the only hawk stepping up. likewise in the series vs the cavs the year before. nvm the boston series where schroeder ate up isiah thomas in front of the boston crowd.

if you discard his first two seasons and just take last two playoff runs he shot over 45% from the field, 39% from 3, and 7.3 assists.

he plays like **** often, but i also think that has allot to do with saving himself up for when it matters. little scrawny guys who ping-pong in the paint allot wont get old in this league.

If you don't count his bad games he's good.

and whats this about is that he has this x-factor. an x-factor that has come out over several entire playoff series where he also far exceeded his regular season play. why not be optimistic about that?

but muh bugmen harping

Well at least you didn’t overreact to a conversation about a game.

I'm in deep minority, but i am pretty glad we have Dennis on this team. He's basically our entire offensive production of the bench (which speaks more about the team then him). Love him or hate him, but i am pretty sure we would have at least 5 wins less without him so far this season...

So he was a rookie, then he sucked a bunch and got overpaid.

I love the idea of Dennis. I just can’t begin to be ok with his vast levels of play. He’s either near trash levels (think Melo) or on occasion borderline unstoppable.

Also there are multiple games where I believe OKC wins had they stuck with Ferg in the crunch over Schroder
