hamidou diallo and dennis schroder the vast majority of minutes in place of ferguson in the second sample.

All of that makes sense except DS being a positive piece.

I've been meaning to mention, Bazley is some sort of next level incompetent as it pertains to driving and finishing at the rim right now. I'm sure it will improve because the kid has some ball skills but right now, WOW, is he bad around the rim.

Do you remember how bad grant was his first year here? He would literally fall down half the time when he got the ball and drove to the basket.

I know sam is doing everything in his power to make CP3 appear to be a more likable teammate, but it does appear Bazley, Shai and CP3 seem to have a good relationship.

Was considering the whole, 'CP3 wears his teammates out' narrative. Seems plausible if you're a young guy learning the league the exact same comment from Paul might be viewed as a positive whereas to a seasoned vet might be pompous and overbearing.

So for instance, when you start a new job, if a senior member of the company comes to you to offer pointers you're soaking it all up. Whereas if you've worked somewhere awhile and someone comes and starts telling you how to do your job that can be annoying/insulting.

Dennis Schröder is 21/64 on jumpshots this season and is still outshooting Jerami Grant at 12/39.

Clearly Schroder should have gotten more minutes than Grant last year. That scrub George hasn’t even made a field goal this year!

I thought this was the season where we get to enjoy the simple things?

4 of 6 most used Thunder lineups are cumulatively negative for season including the starting unit. 70 lineups used. 34% of lineups are positive. 1 used much over 3 minutes per game, just 3 over 2 minutes per game. Starters getting to line well but shooting a lot fewer 3s than opponents.

Not bad for a g-league debut.

Billy donovan quoted in Horne's latest article
"But there’s other times where maybe we can be back a little bit where he’s not exerting so much energy all the time, every possession. I think that you can’t necessarily have one defense that you have and say, ‘OK, this defense is going to carry us all the way through’ because you’re going to play against personnel that is going to create challenges and problems for that coverage. We’ve gotta have multiple coverages.”

This the same dude who refused to switch pick and roll coverages on Rubio IN THE PLAYOFFS because, "we're an over team"?
“If you're getting stops and you're making threes and the other team's not scoring, that's when you're going to see a huge point difference there,” coach Billy Donovan said.

per pbpstats.com:

Paul+Gilgeous-Alexander+Gallinari without Ferguson: 118.29 ORtG | 107.64 DRtG | +10.65 NetRtG in 76 minutes
Paul+Gilgeous-Alexander+Gallinari with Ferguson: 108.85 ORtG | 114.10 DRtG | -5.25 NetRtG in 111 minutes

Furthermore: If you remove Nader and Ferguson completely from the data sample, you get

112.20 ORtG | 98.51 DRtG | +13.69 NetRtG in 192 minutes

Alas, not enough games played right now to draw real conclusions. Especially since I have no idea what lineups they're throwing out there. 8-)

At media day I remember him being asked how much weight he had put on and he wouldn't say. It's pretty obvious he hasn't bulked up much. He gets screened off from his man pretty easily. He's not getting many looks on offense which I woudn't put all blame on him for that. Also, this kind of stuff is still too common in year three.

Worth a listen. Bazley is a very likable kid.

Touches per 36 minutes and adjusted for pace

Rookie season: 24.03
Sophmore season: 21.94
3rd year: 16.12

WHy is he even on the floor when they don't even bother giving him the ball every once in a while? In 22 minutes a game, the kid touches the ball 10 times. 10! One would assume he'd get more touches just by accident.

shai in the 3 guard lineups and diallo in the cp3-shai-diallo lineups have both appeared more comfortable defending larger wings than our alleged '3 and D' terrance ferguson. it's early but not an encouraging start; i was worried about his season coming into it when he spoke about handling the ball more and doing more off the dribble. not his game.

Didn't expect Ferguson to play well. He was relevant with westbrook and PG13 because he was wide open every time
