Not a great OT by shai.

I didn't want the win but I think it's ok after SGA/Dort playing so well.
We won't be able to suck like the Wolves anyway...goal is bottom 2 of the West and bottom 3 in the league.

7 difficult games to end the month : Sixers, Nuggets, Clippers, Clippers, Blazers, Suns, Nets.
I really hope we can get 1-6 at best..but we never know with this team.
Main issue is that we will play the Wolves two times early February. Rest of the the month will be brutal though

We might beat Portland but the rest should be losses. It’s probably safe to say we aren’t getting the worst record in the league.

SGA and Dort were great. Roby has some real potential. Even some of his fouls were good defensive plays that were kind of ticky tack. Bazley just doesn’t look good on and off the court. During the come back I noticed he was the only one on the bench sitting down while everyone was cheering. Maybe it was the ankle but I’ve seen him act pouty on more than one experience. I think he has potential but right now he needs to get it together. I’m not sure how much better he is than Williams right now.

yeah won't think about Cade/Suggs/Kuming/Mobley for a while.
We may regret this

Bazley is still a mistery to me. He shows a lot of potential, sometimes he gives 100% and badly wants to win but tonight it looked like he didn't care...

It's not about him, it's the offense. Not well designed, not enough open looks for him. I didn't see a single screen off the ball in this Thunder offense so far in this season. He also is not getting the ball mid-post.
Maybe there'll be some attention shift from him to Dort now, but usually, he gets the ball on really bad spots. Maybe he's not slashing enough.

The offense is working fine for everyone else. We don’t need to worry about catering the offense to a guy that can’t shoot or finish at the rim. Hes choosing to iso and shoot jab step threes. That’s on him.

he got tons of open looks from SGA. His mechanic looks ok but he's missing everything. And he's lazy on defense lately.

He also had four turnovers tonight. Some of them were just stupid plays. He’s twenty years old and he’s trying to do a lot more this year. I don’t think he’s a bust but he’s not ready for what he’s trying to do. You can see that he isn’t handling it well in how he acts. I think moving him to the bench is something that will help him. It’s not a punishment but he definitely hasn’t earned a solidified starter role at the moment.

I think there's a healthy compromise here where Baze maybe plays a little more with the 2nd unit but still starts games. It's wild that every time poku touches the rock he's able to get a ball screen but Baze is left alone when he catches on the wing. I think maybe if he's with that bench group he can show a little more as a ball handler/distributor. He's normally not so obvious but tonight he really telegraphed his moves and dribbled into chaos. He's also had great stretches in the bubble/preseason so I'm not out yet after a game where he was a GTD to play.

I swear I jinxed Baze. I got excited for him and said something to that effect on here and I don't think he's had a good game since. At this point he looks totally out of sorts. Semi-lost on offense. My bad, everyone.

The best play is at 2:20: Temple goes over, SGA dunks!

Good points. He’s gone from a guy that was mostly dependent on others as a spot up shooter to trying to create most of his own shots, A lot of the shots he’s missing aren’t way off like Poku’s shots. There is definitely potential to get a lot better. He’s not totally dissimilar from Jerami Grant when he first got here. Bazley has a little more of a natural touch and I think can be a more well rounded player than Grant was for us. However their driving ability, or lack ok, mirrors one another. I think bazley probably has the second highest ceiling behind shai...maybe Poku.

Zach Lavine deserves a ton of credit for what he's become in the league. His first two years he was literally the worst basketball player skill wise i'd ever seen getting significant NBA minutes.
“If you're getting stops and you're making threes and the other team's not scoring, that's when you're going to see a huge point difference there,” coach Billy Donovan said.

I agree. He gets a lot of hate for not being a true number one option.
He’s a good reminder to be patient on all our young guys. It’s just hard to watch every game and not have opinions.
