Spoiler:
6-James Bouknight has seemingly become more desirable as the predraft process has progressed. Rival teams believe he may be the favorite for the Oklahoma City Thunder at No. 6 if Scottie Barnes is gone.

The Thunder could solidify their backcourt by pairing Shai Gilgeous-Alexander with Bouknight, whose athleticism, ball-handling for creation and three-level shot-making hint at enticing scoring potential.

The eye test on his jumper looks more convincing than the numbers (just 32 percent from three in his two collegiate seasons), and he helped ease concerns at his pro day, as scouts raved about his shooting performance.

16 16. Oklahoma City Thunder (via Celtics): Alperen Sengun (Besiktas, C, 2002)

18. Oklahoma City Thunder: Jalen Johnson (Duke, PF, Freshman)
34. Oklahoma City Thunder: Ayo Dosunmu (Illinois, PG/SG, Junior)
36. Oklahoma City Thunder (via Timberwolves): Aaron Henry (Michigan State, SG/SF, Junior)
55. Oklahoma City Thunder (via Nuggets): Juhann Begarin (Paris Basketball, SG, 2002)

Who knows what it looks like in 2 years, but if that's our haul on draft night I think I'd be really satisfied, all things considered.

The worst part of it is that it may be true but we have no shot at Suggs anyway. If orlando ends up with Suggs & Kuminga, damn!

My last hope is that Cleveland is willing to gamble on a guy like Kuminga and Presti offers enough picks to get Mobley...still VERY unlikely. Wonder how many/which picks it could cost.

The same article said the magic like Suggs. Regardless if it’s true or not, it isn’t likely to benefit us.

Bouknight is growing on me more and more. Also I would love to pick up Austin Reaves in the 2nd. He played for Oklahoma the last year or 2 and he is a bucket getter in all facets. He would be likely to stick around long term.

Who says no in a #16 for #13 and Lamb? I would be happy about it but not sure the Thunder FO is willing to pay 10 millions to move up 3 spots. Don't think Indiana would agree in a 13 for 18 swap (maybe if we add Kenrich)

I would try 18 for 13+ lamb but if Indiana insist I still might send 16 instead depending on who’s there at 13.

I prefer to move Kenrich in another deal.

Read on Twitter

Kuminga at 6, Cam Thomas at 16, Sengun at 18. KOC is the biggest Cam Thomas fan I've seen (#9 on his big board), so wouldn't read much into that

Cam Thomas is a guy that I have a tough time getting excited about.

If the Thunder are willing to role with SGA as a full time PG then I can get with Bouknight at #2. Otherwise, you're blowing a #6 pick on a backup to SGA at the 2 spot.

Yeah, I'd prefer to have Duarte with the #16 or #18 pick.

This is sad but I won't be happy about any player we pick at 6. Got a bit excited about Bouknight but his ceiling is not really high and Kuminga is such a high risk prospect...

I wouldn't mind moving down to 9 if a team like Sacramento loves Kuminga and offers a lot of value (but we have enough picks alreadyt so no idea why it would be worth it :()

This is such a strange draft to be a Thunder fan. I would be okay with so many prospects. I'd be okay with so many scenarios. Shove all the chips in to get in to the top 4. Move back from 6 to get more shots at a mid tier prospect. Stay put with 6, 16, and 18. All of these seem like decent ideas. This draft seems like it's full of mid-tier prospects that could pan out all the way to 18. You have to imagine the Presti needs multiple dry erase boards for the different scenarios in play.

I keep dipping a toe into trying to decide who I'd want and then getting kind of overwhelmed with the amount of dudes I wouldn't be annoyed by getting. I think there are going to be a ton of useful dudes from this draft. And I think I trust OKC to develop them about as well as any other team out there. Not saying it's a no-lose situation, but I think there are a ton of ways for this to go right.

At 18 I keep coming back to Shariffe Cooper. I think if his shot comes together he's got Isaiah Thomas, maybe even poor man's Tre Young potential in terms of being able to manipulate the defense out of the pick and roll.

I rather take Jaden springer cause he’s younger and theoretically more room to grow.

Edit : that say at 16/18 I can talk myself into cam Thomas as well

I think it’s easier to get a high potential PG/ backup PG then SG that I don’t mind getting bouknight if that’s who presti wants with our highest pick this draft .

Most of our current rest of roster can play PG of some sort and SGA/Bouknight should be able to slide up to SF on a small ball lineup.

Regardless of what happens, I’ll be hopeful and Dadouv47 will be really worried. 8-)

Unless we reach wildly for 6/16/18 or we trade down from 2 of the picks ?

Return to Oklahoma City Thunder
