Re: Oklahoma City Thunder Regular Season 2015-2016 Part 2
Notes from 2nd quarter/1st half:
Overall, the Thunder have come out completely flat defensively and we are settling on offense. It looks like our ball handlers do not want to work to get to the rim but Westbrook. Dion did a little, too. I repeat: a little. Roberson, Durant, Kanter, and Westbrook came to play tonight. Not sure about the other guys. Ibaka is doing his part offensively, but he needs to put it together on the defensive end as well. We seriously need help on defense. The communication or our defensive strategy is completely wrong. We are helping on the wrong guys and playing off of the wrong guys. Vets are forgetting their assignments.
We finally get to see Payne get some run with the second unit and some with our starters as well. He played good minutes with Durant and Westbrook and shared the floor with Augustin only to see him shortly walk to the bench in favor of Westbrook. Made some really nice passes and showed good shot selection and great patience and had great defensive positioning but got a little too aggressive with Nelson as Denver was in the bonus. Keep giving him run and he will get to be more aggressive offensively.
Got to see a line up Payne/Westbrook/Roberson/Ibaka/Kanter. That's fun. Looked like it was working well offensively.
Ibaka came out for Collison and then was put back in to bolster the 2nd unit's defense only to have him give lackadaisical effort.
Haven't seen any Morrow and very little Waiters. Right now, I'd love to see Singler be thrown in. He's a guy who can switch everything. I don't care what you guys say, he at least hustles on defense.
Durant settling for a 3. SMH. Led to bad transition defense and a Barton 3.
Referees making a crazy call on that Westbrook-to-Adams alley-oop.
Jameer Nelson hitting some nice 3s. I'd rather have him than Augustin, at this point, honestly.
Faried showing his too quick and skillful for Adams. Denver seems like they are having their way with us in the post.
Durant looked dejected after Faried hammered that dunk down. Got to be frustrating. They haven't been able to defend a lot of pick and rolls. We are going to get killed in the playoffs if we don't find a way to stop that. Our bigs looking lost on defense this game.
Adams with the uneccessary elbow on offense. C'mon man!
Nice play by Westbrook to end the game.

Because Donovan & co. do not have balls.
Honestly, bench Ibaka and throw Kanter in there. I mean, damn, at least Kanter is hustling. Ibaka looks hungover and like he doesn't want to play tonight. Our defense is atrocious. Might as well throw in an offensive beast.
Ibaka is 6 of 7 for 13 points, Durant is the one looking like he doesn't want to play.
I'm glad Cam is getting playing time, but at the expense of Morrow? Can Donovan not see DJ and DIon are the problem?
Ibaka came to play offensively, not defensively. Looks lost on defense. KD just looks dejected. Like he's tired of playing in OKC :[

So frustrating. We just flat out aren't good right now and this is a result of coaching. Thunder need to cut this lead now. Can't afford to fall behind by too much.

We usually come out of the 3rd playing with a lot more energy. Usually we close the 2nd quarter on a nice run. That wasn't the case. So I expect everyone to be much sharper in the 3rd. Donovan needs to stop screwing around with the rotation now and win this game. Sometimes I think he sees the 1st half as an experiment and the 2nd half as a game. We have the talent to pull that off, too.

We should have this game in the bag now. Just have to be consistent and execute and not throw crazy lineups.

They've made some of the most BS shots tonight.
Said in a thread about which point guards would make OKC better if they replaced Westbrook:
