If we can get Williams, that would be sweet, but he will sign with Cavs I'm sure.

Edit: Can the Cavs sign him? Can we sign him? We do have an open roster spot now.

It is rumored Jazz want to sign him to fix the things broken in Sloan era and hang his banner. Possibly they can't find anybody else worthy of banner-hanging in the last 10 or so years.

Pretty sure he'll start.

A second unit of Kanter/ Sabonis/ and McBuckets scares me on the defensive end.

P.S. Just imagine Oladipo running second unit with Abrines and McDermott manning the wings with Kanter down low and Gibson protecting the rim.

actually think it makes more sense for us to continue to start Sabonis and stagger his minutes with Gibson so Gibson can assist more on 2nd unit. See above.

I also hope that he starts and becomes our own Ariza "the iron man veteran". Russ needs to see some more people like Taj around him to keep the motivation up.

Would make no sense for Deron to come here for 15-20 spot minutes. He will go to Cleveland, nothing surer.

Sabonis is a better defender than grant. Grant is just a better shot blocker.

They are relatively the same to me. I'd give the slight edge to Grant because of his length and side to side quickness. Sabonis is a smart defender but is limited because of his lack of length and t-Rex arms.

Domas is much better. Grant is good for some highlight reel blocks, outside of that the dude is terrible. He shouldn't be getting playing time as it is.

Domas isn't given the benefit of doubt from officials on his defense attempts. I can even say his every first 3 touches end with a foul whistle. Maybe he should ask his father to make some calls. Otherwise his BBIQ is sky high when compared with Jerami "I netted 3 to 4 picks to 76ers" Grant.

So does McDermott start with Roberson sliding to the two? Would let us revert Oladipo back to leading the second unit, which was the original intention when acquiring him. Or does McDermott assume the role of microwave scorer off the bench?

I'm hoping he starts, it really makes more sense skillset wise.

imo both Taj and Dougie should start. But I wouldn't be surprised to see both come off the bench. Gibson provides no less spacing than Sabonis currently does, and lets Sabonis have it a bit easier off the bench. Although I can see how pairing Taj with Kanter is also a good idea.

I know Roberson won't be benched, but I'd really like it if he was. Bring some spacing back to the starting lineup with Oladipo/McDermott running around. We have a chance to actually have a somewhat spaced floor, but we'll probably start Roberson and maintain the status quo in that regard.

The move does however provide us with some flexibility. So I know it's not necessarily who's starting games but who's finishing them, but I'd have a much greater peace of mind watching McBuckets take corners 3s instead of Roberson.

Russ/Oladipo/Christon
Roberson/Oladipo/Abrines
McDermott/Roberson/Grant/Huestis
Sabonis/Gibson/Grant/Huestis
Adams/Kanter/Gibson

The above rotation is most likely but with Oladipo starting, coming out of the 1st early (maybe 6 minute mark) with McDermott coming in while we slide Roberson to the 2nd. Westbrook will sit and Oladipo will come off of bench and run point for second unit. Sabonis comes out at same time, and we insert Gibson.

By the way, I think this trade almost confirms that Roberson will be re-signed. Only way he is dealt is if we work a trade during the draft to move up a few picks to get a guy we want, or we trade out of our pick and package Roberson for a 3&D guy.

I'm almost certain Gibson starts.

And he'll get more minutes with Cleveland? :-?

We really need a backup PG. Semaj is not an NBA level player.

Mario Chalmers looks kind of appealing. At least on paper. The concerning part is that he's gone this long without being signed. Surely if he was right he'd have been picked up by now. Some of the options aren't looking so good after that. Norris Cole, Will Bynum, Jordon Farmar, Jarrett Jack...Hell we'd probably almost be better off rolling with some unknown. It's a little dire looking.
