I liked it better when sga didn’t whine every time he drove to the lane and didn’t get a whistle.
And I know we’ve been begging for calls for awhile now, but holy smokes do all these fouls make games not fun.

It sure is a lot easier when we don't dig ourselves a big hole early.
Saric's size was a welcome addition after that NO game. I didn't expect to get much out of him. I think we are the antithesis of Houston in that everyone seems to improve in our environment.

Also, apropos of nothing, I think jre is too small for center, and shouldn’t be more than a 5th big on any decent team.
Yea it just seems like he and Joe are on the outside looking in too often. It makes me nervous that we can continue to give Mann chance in the world to take their well earned minutes.

I would love to try to get Jabari though...he's struggling a lot but he would be a great fit for us and we could allow him to develop the right way. I don't think Houston would trade him so fast but hope Presti tries.
Ive said it before and will say it again. The rockets are everything that thunder were vilified for being the last two years. Just listened to D2D this morning. It's interesting the story that came out that said Jabari's dad said the thunder promised to pick him. Schlecht was skeptical but I see no incentive for his dad to lie about it.

This is a very weird story. I don't see why his father would lie either but the Thunder "love affair" with Chet was well known...hell Chet also refused to worked out with some teams because he wanted to play for us.
I wouldn't mind if Presti makes a big offer for Jabari in the offseason...doubt Rockets are willing to trade him though

Depending on where the picks land, I wouldn't mind offering a swap with the rockets this year in return for some of their assets.

Maybe they can bring back Joakim Noah if they need another reserve.

Jabari would be a great fit next to Chet.
I think the biggest question left for the Thunder is who is your 5th Starter with Chet, Giddey, JDub and SGA?

That's why I love Jabari's fit. Siakam would be great too but I doubt he wants to play for us.
Could be a lower ceiling PF if Chet is an all star kind of player.

Has he said he’s not wanting to win a championship?

I think they project Dieng to be starting PF some time in future, but I doubt he will be ready in time.
Options for Presti are:
- find NBA ready PF in this draft. Jarace Walker could be that guy.
- sign someone like Jerami Grant or trade for John Collins. Patrick Williams would be a dream, but I don't think Bulls will trade him for our picks.
- start Kenrich.

Does Giddey become the PF at some point? I know we probably need some more strength out of our PF if Chet is the C. But, they can find that in a backup C.
Maybe they look to add a point guard who can fit with the Big4.

I don't think the Jabari talk is realistic at this point, but I would love to watch that lineup next year.

I think giddey doesn’t become a pf until his extension at the earliest . A giddey / Chet front court is kind of light .
I think it’s more likely we have the following set in stone
PG - shai
SG - giddey
SF - Jdub
PF/C - Chet
So that’s either a c like Naz Reid cause eventually he will be a backup or a PF like Jarace walker if we want develop someone .
It could even be someone by committee and we get a vet SF/PF/C to spend some minutes …
I don’t think we are trading or signing a star to slot in.

Sounds likely. Our hard on for Chet was kinda obvious throughout the draft process . There was even talks that magic should just pick him and make us pay assets to get him instead (assuming they prefer one of the other 2)

I’d love to add J Smith Jr but there’s no way the Rockets trade him. There’s a lot of smoke about them going big fish hunting this off-season.
I’m already running the tankathon machine and it’s frustrating. I promise to hold off on my SGA trades for at least two more weeks. But that’s about all I can commit to right now.

why do you want to trade SGA? What kind of return do you expect?

I don’t see a clear pathway to true title contention, because Shai’s timeline is 2-4 years ahead of the rest of the team.
I feel like we are firmly in the middle and that we need to add 1-2 all star level talents before we are contenders, and one of those needs to be all-NBA/MVP caliber.
Maybe Chet Giddey JDub are those guys, but it will take 3 more years for that to come to fruition (maybe 2 in the best case?).
By then SGA will be in his final year and maybe, maaaybe we have the ability to get deep in the playoffs after middling around for three years. I expect that he will want to move on in free agency or we will trade him.
I’d rather have spent those three years with a top pick from this draft growing with Giddey/Chet/Dub.
But I would only do it on a massive return for Shai, not trying to give him away. I’m thinking a top 2 pick this year, + more. Maybe Orlando sends 5 & 7 + more and we move into the top 2. Something like that.
I said the same thing last year though. I could be wrong on all of that. It does make sense to wait it out and see how we develop, but I’m not confident in our ability to add an MVP type player outside of the draft.
Return to Oklahoma City Thunder
