What have you seen that makes you say that?

We're also second last in hockey assists. 6th last in assists. 3rd last in catch and shoot points. 3rd in isolation field goal attempts per game. Bottom 10 in cuts and points off cuts.

Pretty much everything around the same (we've dropped off in postups due to shipping out Kanter) as it has been the previous two seasons, but so many fans think it's all going to change and our genius coach will figure it all out.

Where did those stats from? stats.nba.com doesn't offer tracking data for this season yet. :-?

You're right. I got too into it without even checking to see if it was current. I'll just have to wait until the stats do come out, chances are I could copy and paste that post and it'd all be accurate anyway...

I feel like the entire team's rotations have been poor the last 2 games and it has hurt Alex the most. Like Westbrook always took a possession off now and again allowing Andre and Steven to clean up his mess. But Alex isn't on Andre's level so he isn't as successful at it.

Then you haven't been paying attention.

It is real early but a number of Russ' stats / metrics are at least impressive level since he was 21 as a sophomore. FT rate down 40% from last season right now.

Thunder above average in 3pt attempts but below on 3pt fg% so far that it is not really a strong shot. Only average on offensive rebounding of the many misses.

Russ likely to recover some ground, team 3pt and OReb game may not.

PG and Melo are at 18 combined threes per game on 30%, I think it's safe to say those numbers will normalize a bit.

Yeah the offense isnt much a worry for 2nd unless PG keeps chucking near a 50 percent 3pa rate.

To be honest a lot of the offense just looks like a bunch of guys not really being familiar with each other. Shortened preseason, a couple of guys not/barely playing in preseason, vastly different roles compared to last season. I think it's somewhat understandable and Melo + the bench having a 126 ORtG so far (nbawowy.com) points to it mostly being a lack of familiarity because that's basically just Melo doing his thing.

Right now $105 million starters are basically average overall in all lineups (starting lineup sucking, rest must be better) and $25 mil bench players are average.

We're a whole 3 games into the season.

Let's pour one out for one of our all-time greats

So the next time Melo takes a long 2 just remember: At least it's not Dion. :P

Is there really a difference between them at this point? They had the same eFG% last year. Dion at least pretends to play defense. I think people are still trying to pretend this is 28 year old Melo.

one more fun fact: domantas sabonis has attempted more free throws this year and collected more rebounds than paul george and carmelo anthony combined.

Its almost like when a coach doesn't shoe horn a player into a forced role, he plays better.

The biggest problem so far is Melo and George chucking up shots like they're Klay Thompson on the Bulls. 44 ppg on 42 shot attempts (18 3pa) is abysmal, and they've both actually upped their shot attempts from last year when they were number one options on bad teams. So the best player on the team is the one sacrificing shots, Melo isn't even bothering to rebound, and George forgot how to shoot. We're playing like in 2k when you first get big name player and you have to shoot with him every time he touches the ball.
