I can't even remember them running a PnR with him. Have they run a classic PnR with Noel yet? What about a PnP with Patterson? Those are things they should be looking at as well imo. Adams can't be the only big that is going to the basket.

we've done both. but our proclivity to do either is hampered by not having rw around. schroeder not as good. felton, well, you know.

noel screens like grant does.

i've read and heard some hot takes this preseason on dennis schroder's alleged renewed defensive prowess but i don't see it. he did ok against calderon and mostly against young i guess. he gets rubbed out on screens all the time and takes really poor angles when he's isolated. this won't matter that much as backup pg but concerning minutes he's going to play next to westbrook? i still don't see how that's supposed to work on defense. he seems way worse than westbrook on defense to me.

This is either really good or really bad.
“If you're getting stops and you're making threes and the other team's not scoring, that's when you're going to see a huge point difference there,” coach Billy Donovan said.

Can someone explain to me what is going on? Patterson hasn’t taken a shot and we just look like we are all over the place defensively.

schroder and george are mostly either shooting out of pnr or going to adams. westbrook is better at finding shooters. they need to start patterson and keep doing so at least until rw comes back.

Can we get a little bit justifiably excited about Diallo now?

Start Hami, f*** it... he's outperformed his peers on the team in the pre-season and brings high energy and activity / movement with a purpose... worst that happens is he's bad and goes to the bench for Ferguson, TLC, or Abrines after a handful of games

Between this game and the SL buzzer beater, I think both Royce and slick would agree that burton is clutch.

Diallo/Burton will probably get most of tonight's press but the unsung hero of the night for me would be Timothe. He's normally sorta low motor/energy but tonight he looked like he gave a damn and it showed. Shot didn't fall but really aggressive attacking the paint and in transition. Played good D despite fouling out in the 4th. Also had a nice baseline slam.

We've seen this story enough the last few years to know that no matter how promising a rookie looks in preseason he'll probably end up being a foul magnet in the regular season and so marginalized in the offense that he'll have a hard time doing much of anything positive. All that said, I like what we've got to build on in Diallo. The guy has a lot better feel for the game than Ferguson already.

If Hami could be a reliable shooter, he'd have Fergs spot taken.

Trying not to get my hopes up, but this is one of the deepest teams we have ever had. If Diallo and Burton become key contributors, we are in solid shape going forward. We really need 1 more star. It would be ideal if Hami becomes that guy.
