I don't have a good feeling. They will be even more confident.

It's so stupid to crumble like that in last 3 minutes. Why so many ISO ball?

Mark did a great mistake in going small. We loose the rebound battle in the last 3-4 minutes. Siakam had an offensive board and got a 2. Sh..

where were those alley oop passes that worked so well against Denver and Minny? Cason made one to JDub and that was it. Probably our players were too nervous but Coach D should be aware of this and he made a terrible job. Lack of extra pass, rushing the shots. Chet and Hartenstein combined 41 minutes, no *** we were outrebounded by a lot. That's what improved the most this offseason and we make that stupid mistake once again.

I wouldn't have played Ajay but I don't think he was bad when he played but the overall lack of awareness and BBIQ from our team offensively is concerning. Pacers probably won't play as bad offensively again and it's not like we were THAT terrible from three (we had worse games in those POs from deep). Dort deserved that win that's for sure.

I thought they finally found that winner mentality but that was maybe just a temporary boost from the denver series

i try not to overreact, i think they had a good game, pretty dominant until the 4th. tbh i was just vibing (bottle of wine) didn't really pay attention to what went wrong.

if the offensive game was a bit more tidy (especially from chet and jdub), this would be a blowout.

sometimes it is what it is. 47:59.7 in the lead.

they have to recover. they will recover.

I try not to post during games so at least I will appear sane .. but what a last minute grab. Kind of impressed by them.

Well that sucked. Nice shot by Haliburton, and congrats to Indy.

Not worried yet. Still feels like we lost it, not that they won it. I probably should've expected us to lock up in our first ever finals game.

Observations, any thoughts?
-We need a second scorer to step up.
-Hartenstein should've played more last night.
-Mark D. got too cute with rotations. Too confident maybe?
-Going small at the end was a mistake. That's where Hartenstein's additional minutes should've been.

Game stats : REB. OKC 39 IND 56 AST. OKC 13 IND 24 / TO. OKC 6 IND 24 / With the advantage from 18 TO we loose this game unfortunately. But -17 in rebounds and -11 in assists is a no go. JHart and Chet have 40,5 play-minutes together. That explains a -17 in REB. Bad coaching in my eyes.

Mark decided he wanted to destroy the starting lineup and rotation and go small. There have been a few posters here wanting Mark to do this for a while. I assume those posters are happy as they got what they wanted. Game 2 starters are SGA, Dort, JDub, Chet, IH or OKC is finished. Will Mark return to being a sane and competent coach or will he once again experiment with failing options?

mark going small with one big man has nothing to do with his coaching mistakes yesterday and going full small without any big at the end of the game.

unless pacers play hartenstein off the court, mark will play two bigs as long as he can

how pacers rebound?

that's the question going through marks mind at the moment. and it's a good question

Looks like you were mistaken. Mark went away from winning by going small in game 1. Will Mark wake up and go big in game 2 to tie the series or is Mark going to be committed to abandoning OKC's advantage to play into Indy's strength?

Good call...its losing basketball and it will cost them the series, but you were right about Mark being this stupid.

I'm sorry Kizz but you are making some crazy mistakes. OKC won game 7 against Denver by going small. OKC won against Minny by going small and playing Hart/Chet 4-5 minutes together at best. OKC advanced stats during the regular season and postseason are the best when we have either Chet or Hartenstein on the floor, not both.

Going extra small with NO big on the floor in the last 4 minutes was stupid and a coaching mistake from Mark but the Chet/Hartenstein line up isn't going to work.

if OKC had a semi competent offensive game we wouldn't be talking about going with 2 bigs. Siakam wasn't good. Turner wasn't good at all either. They made a ton of turnovers. Their guards were good and they would get a ton more open looks if we play two bigs. Just gotta stick with at least one big and be smarter on the offensive end by making the extra pass and take good shots. Also don't play 12 players like it's a season opener and you are having fun.

We played 7 minutes without Chet or Hartenstein on the floor and that's the unacceptable part. Chet was terrible but Hartenstein was able to attack the paint easily the first half and somehow they didn't give him the chance to do it again in the second.
