If you are Portland would you rather Blake, Gallo or Love?

Assuming the cost is Whiteside and a first rounder.

What’s the most prized asset out on the market right now?

Memphis’ FRP which is owned by the C’s? Suns FRP?

I am sure that there is motivation to make the playoffs in the locker room.

We shall see if Sam let’s them play it out. Gallo can be used as a sign and trade at the end of the year or the Thunder could re-sign him if they wanted to. He is the only guy that’s expiring.

Dre obviously expires as well. I think this could be posturing, but also a re-signed Gallo has lots of value around the league

I would go for Kevin Love because this season is a mess right now for Portland. Bad record, lost Hood, Nurkic not back yet. So giving up a first hoping that an expiring like Gallo can help them that much is a bit risky. Kevin love's contract isn't good but a Nurkic/Love/Dame/CJ line up next year would be very good.

Smokescreen. Woj is reporting what Sam wants him to so that okc doesn’t look desperate. Sam doesn’t want it to look like we are willing to trade these guys. He wants fan interest high as long as possible and is looking to get max value because “technically these guys aren’t available unless it’s an offer we can’t refuse”. The other reports are for more telling because they reveal what’s being said behind on the phones between front offices.

Think it would be a REALLY risky move. Gallo was healthy last year but still very injury prone. He's already 31 years old. Don't think we can make a lot of value by resigning him. Could be a disaster tbh.

Feel like I'm going to be disappointed by this trade deadline (like every year). Presti only works during the summer.

What do you want them to do? This the first time in a while they have multiple moveable assets.

I want them to move those assets.

The obvious one is Gallo for an expiring and a late FRP.

Then I don't know. Don't think we will trade CP3 now (I don't want OKC to pay to get rid of him).

Oh well and still dreaming about trading Schroeder for neutral value but won't happen.

Considering the playoffs equals additional cash for the bottom line, I totally believe the "push for the playoffs" storyline TBH.

I don't see too many realistic Gallo trade suitors tbh. His number is kinda hard to get to considering there's very few bad contracts and a limited number of playoff teams that would even want him. Indiana makes a little sense but a FRP might not be in the cards. I think being a first round exit and pick 15/playoff experience is better than missing the playoffs and pick 14. Might keep him at least till the summer then maybe have him be part of a S&T considering he's gonna be one of the most talented guys on the market.

In the event no one wants to give a first for gallo, I’m ok with keeping him. No need to reward teams for being cheap.

Would you do Gallo for Winslow/Waiters and 2 2nd round picks? (then we buy out Dion Waiters because I don't want to see him in a Thunder uniform again). Not sure I would do it, thinking about a deal that could be good for both sides.

Miami could use Gallo but they can't trade any FRP. Winslow has some value but don't think he's worth a first, while Waiters is clearly terrible.

The few possibilities for a C Paul trade include the Pistons, maybe Hornets and possibly the Knicks.

For Gallo, some teams will bid but I doubt they offer the right stuff. I'd think a multi-teams deal could be helpful. The Rockets would probably have to organize a multi-team deal.

I'd suggest the Raptors try for him, but they probably won't. No buzz on this from Warriors or Spurs but I could see some possibility of interest if a multi-team deal could be fashioned.

I don’t see the hard capped, 5-23 warriors going all in on an expiring gallo.

For me Utah is the only team that really should trade for CP3. A CP3/Conley needs to happen. It gives the Jazz 2 years to contend before resigning Gobert and paying Donovan Mitchell and it allows us to tank.

I would include Orlando in the teams that may trade for him but probably won't.

If Warriors could tentatively convince Gallo to be receptive to re-signing to an acceptable deal (gained thru granted permission "to talk") and arrange to get Gallo in a multi-team deal that got the Thunder what they want (from TWolves, somebody else, a 4th / 5th team including pay extra to offload salary ballast), they could end up with a better player and lower tax than keeping Russell. This potential move has absolutely nothing to do with this season. It is about Bird Rights and a team that could pull off this move. It is speculative, but I'd try for it as them. If Gallo ended up not wanting to stay, they could probably sign and trade him and maybe to the east. Or they could just get out of the Russell deal, which they need to do and might be harder than guessed and could get harder with time.

I don't see Jazz pursuing Paul and admitting to Conley error. I dunno if Presti is in a hurry enough to care much about one less year of contract. There is some chance Paul stays the full contract or until sometime before or in last season buyout.

He can waive it.

I said "if".

Is he going to re-sign again? I sorta doubt it. But depends on what is done with Adams, what is planned with Patton, what may have promised to Noel or hinted at by Presti.

The Thunder hold his early bird-rights. I think he might be willing to stick around unless someone is going to offer him the mid-level.
