Im just a DKV Juventud fan (Ricky's team) and as I have seen a lot of wrong information arround the team boards I'm just trying to post recent and correct news about him in the forums I believe they will have a high pick in the draft.

Re: Early look at 2009 draft
Well I've just started watching this team recently and I think Hasheem Thabeet would be a great fit for this team with Durant, Westbrook, and Green. I don't think this team needs another scorer but they could use a big a defensive center who can grab a ton a boards and block shots kinda like Tyson Chandler.
Another guy that might work well is Evan Turner from Ohio State, he'san extremely versatile guard/forward who can do it all and has very good fundamentals. He looks like he'll be a very good glue guy in the NBA, Kinda reminds me of Marco Jaric a bit.

What about the reports that he is not coming over in this year?

One month ago, Rubio's agent Germán Gonzalez said Ricky would decide if he enters the next NBA draft in 30 days. As of today, Esteve Rubio says no decision has been made. TuBasket.com

No not for me
Maybe next year after Thabeet is in place then I wouldn't mind drafting him

"It would be possible for him to go if he is a TOP-3, it's a matter of numbers (money). It's a decision that we will all take toguether, but it depends on Ricky. He is a very wise man. He will listen to all of us, and then he will decide"
Esteve Rubio
Ricky Rubio's father.
At the begining of the season I trully believed he wasnt going to declare, but as his games is evolving this season (since he is recovered he is avg. 14pts, 7 assist and 3 steals in less than 23 min.) I would say he is 70/30, if he believes he is going to be a TOP3 he will declare.

Re: Early look at 2009 draft
If Ricky declares for 2009 draft I have no doubt that he will be the first pick!
As an European player he is not very known by US fans, but the scout of all the NBA teams follow him since he is 14 and known him very very well.
There is no GM, no Scout, no Coach that will miss the chance to have Ricky in their team if they have the chance to pick him!
If the Thunder are lucky and inherit of the first pick they have to trade Westbrook for a center, why not Thabeet.
Rubio
Sefolosha
Green
Durant
Thabeet

Don't sleep on Griffin, he's a beast. Rubio could be great too, but he's going to have to overcome the failures of previous European players who have been drafted in the top half of the lottery.

Re: Early look at 2009 draft
I really can't see Rubio ascending over Griffin. Possibly Hill, Harden, Thabeet, etc. But it has been pretty widely believed for a while that this is one of those drafts where it is a one player lottery... winner take the prize. I'm not a huge Griffin supporter, I just don't see him getting passed up for Rubio.

I'm sorry, but if you're comparing a player to Marko Jaric, the only good thing that comes out of it is him marrying a supermodel that everyone sees as eye candy.

Looking ahead to the 2009 NBA draft
The chances of the Thunder winning the first draft pick diminishes with every victory they pile on. Oklahoma City will be using the upcoming tournaments to see if any one player catches their eye. So, what are the needs of the Thunder this coming summer? For starters, the Thunder have been sorely looking for a dominant Power Forward or Center. Nenad Krstic looks to be the leading candidate for starter at Center with Nick Collison an able backup

Yeah I had a quick look through the prospects, but no-one has really caught my eye in the 5-8 range.
Time for Presti to work his magic and get us a diamond in the rough.

I think he'd be perfect for this team. We need a big, and a center like Thabeet that could anchor our defense would be perfect. Combine Thabeet with Westbrook and Green and we have the makings of a very good defensive team.

Re: Early look at 2009 draft
would you guys take Harden or Thabeet. Im asking this because the raptors need a SG so im seeing what other teams would take.
- I think the kings take Rubio with Thompson+Hawes
- Wizards take Griffin
- Clippers take jennings, harden makes little sense with gordon
- You guys would have a choice between Harden and Thabeet but i think Thabeet gives you that defensive young centre for a long time and you could sign a SG like Gordon
- Memphis needs PF like monroe/Hill
- Wolves need a PG with Foye/Miller or a SF
Raptors NEED A SG. So who do you pick?

2 expiring vets that help now. A young big to add to the Scottie timeline
I'd prefer to keep Stew and give Monte Morris
I'd really prefer to keep Morris and Stew and give the great Killian Hayes and 2nd round picks

Raptors probably signs Igor Rakocevic (TAU Ceramica in the Spanish League).
I think Raptors take a PF or C
You should to take Ricky Rubio because you need a good PG.
