Who else is out there that may not be untouchable?

That's an improvement to the roster right now? Don't really see anyone personally. Good players don't become available that much, and I don't know of any rumors of guys I'd call a legit improvement. Chandler maybe. That's the biggest off the top of my head.

I mean young players that are underachieving that we might target. If Presti pulled a Hennigan and let an agent snap a shot or his whiteboard wish-list, what names would be on there?

Hardaway Jr maybe? Hezonja as a buy low, maybe one of Portland's wings. Personally I'd take either of Covington or Holmes from Philly or McConnell as backup PG.

Hardaway jr is legit on the offensive end. I don't know if he's a good defender or not. I have no idea how we could realistically get him unless Atlanta wanted Adams and moved on from Howard. Covington is a good option too.

Yeah that's the problem, all the assets on the roster are either too valuable or have no value IMO. There's not much in the middle.

I expect something this summer and have no clue what. I'm kind of intrigued just because I've got literally no clue but think anyone sans Russ and Steven may be gone.

Is Adams a big disappointment this year? Especially after fetching that 20 mil a year? He ranks 29th amongst Centers in DRPM. By the way, isn't "DRAPM" a more telling statistic? If so, where can I find those stats for this season?

Yep, he is, but I don't think they move him no matter what. Presti mentioned him, Russ, and Nick as the core 3.

Also, RAPM isn't out unless JE releases it on twitter or something, I think someone on the player comp board may contact him.

Presti is making his job harder if he is refusing to move Adams.

Oh, okay. Why don't they just make this a database that is easy to access? That would make much more sense.

By the way, check this out. This is all of the NBA's starting Centers' "advanced" defensive metrics per NBA.com. I filtered out players who played less than 50 games. Check out Adams' Defensive Win-Shares and also take a look at his other metrics such as OPP 2nd Chance Points and OPP Points Scored in the Paint.

It's something a few people used to calculate versions of, but for whatever reason they've been taken down gradually and now RPM took over, but it's a bit flawed.

Yeesh, Adams seems all over the place. PITP aren't good, WS look decent, and 2nd chance points are solid. He just seems down this year defensively, no clue why.

The more I look at starting Center's defensive metrics, I think I might be noticing some correlations. It seems to me that the higher the pace you play, the worse your defensive metrics are. I'm noticing that specifically with defensive rebounding percentage. I wonder if it correlates to other areas as well. Can anyone validate or see this pattern as well?

Serious question. Is there a way where we can move Adams to SAC for Cauley-Stein? We get rid of that contract and get a higher-upside player in Cauley-Stein. SAC gets immediate veteran defensive center to help with their defensive woes. Great player to pair alongside Labissiere and Hield and an overall young team.

A couple of trade ideas

Nets get Adams
Thunder get Lopez, Kilpatrick, and Celtics 1st

Lopez is a better offensive option than Adams. Kilpatrick is kinda a Waiters like combo guard. It's a risk because Lopez could go somewhere else after next season. He shot 35% from 3 this season

If Lakers draft Lonzo Ball

Lakers get Kanter
Thunder Clarkson

Clarkson becomes ideal 6th man/backup PG for this team

With Adams new contract it would be nearly impossible for this trade to happen. If Rudy Gay picks up his player option for next season and you packaged him with WCS you could probably make a deal. But I wouldn't want to trade Adams for WCS.

Also this is not an endorsement of Gay + WCS for Adams

WCS isn't good. He's older than Adams too I believe, he's so far not been impressive at all, don't really see the upside personally. Adams's contract will be fine but he needs to get out of whatever funk he's in.

That's so surprising to me that you don't see he has that upside. Sure, he needs to be consistent, but he's been through some crazy **** since he's been in the league. New coach this year. All the boogie drama. Inadequacy of FO. He would play much better under a stable organization such as OKC.

He's flashed a strong midrange game. He's flashed athletic drives and finishes around the rim and his speed in transition would fit perfect next to Westbrook. He would just out-run the opposing centers in transition. He has huge defensive potential as well. To me age doesn't matter for WCS right now because he didn't even really get to play in college much, right? And then he comes in to the league under a **** organization. He's showing flashes. A coach like Donovan who is far more adept at developing young players would set him on the right path. All you need to do is take a look at March's & April's box scores for Stein to see the potential.

Age is why guys get drafted late, there's a lesser chance of him improving than Adams, and he's already much worse. He doesn't do much well other than "be tall".

Those 2 months, he's managed to have approximately the same averages as Adams offensively while having one of the worst defenses in the league. It would be like Kanter's defense with Adams's offense right now. He just isn't good.

Edit: And he's shooting under 12 percent from the field outside of 10 feet. That's not flashing any mid range.

I don't think they would do Adams for wcs because Adams cost at more for similar performance. It would involve multiple players or multiple teams. I would consider it. Wcs has been productive since cousins left.

What does Adams shoot outside of 10 ft?
