He's shooting well from 3 this year (41.6% on 2.1 attempts) and is also a good defensive rebounder (24.3% DREB%). Unlike Portis, he moves his feet really well defensively and would also probably come cheaper as he is on an expiring deal and with the Knicks big aspirations this summer, I'm not sure how interested they'd be in keeping him longterm. An expiring contract (TLC, Abrines) and a second or two would probably be enough.

He’s an ideal fit on this team but very few trades make sense with him. I think the Knicks want to keep him. He’s young and a good rotation piece that fits if they land a star or if they continue to rebuild. If we traded for him we would have to feel confident that the taxpayers mle is enough to re-sign him which I don’t see happening. If I’m the Knicks then I only move him for a first and if I’m a team trading for him then I only give a first if I know I can and will have cap space to re-sign him.

“Prince stands out as a guy that a team should be targeting,” O’Connor said. “I think you look at Atlanta, he is somebody you have to pay in two years, I’m not sure how he fits into the equation moving forward. I have heard teams like the Sixers, the Blazers and Thunder could be looking at Taurean Prince. …

“The positives are that this guy can grind on defense, he shows scoring potential off of the dribble. His spot-up 3 is average, not great. A lot of that has manifested in the league. He has become a good scorer who can have big nights.”

"Could be looking" sounds speculatory rather than fact based.

A young team like the hawks would need an attractive offer tho.. they will hold a guy like prince until the last minute. No need to trade a young cheap wing that does alot of what 3/4s need to do these days.
Okc has nothing to give atl. Best chance is cleveland with Hood. He is a FA after this season and probably wont be stayin in cleveland

A Knicks fan I was talking to said they might do Vonleh/Lee for Abrines/Pat Pat/TLC. I don't know how true that is, but the framework may be there.

We upgrade two positions without losing a third rotation piece? Hell yeah.

How reckless and irresponsible is it to lower or remove the pick protections if it gets us taurean prince?

Unless Prince is getting moved tomorrow, I’d say pretty reckless. He’s still hurt. I think you have to see what happens over the next 20 days. If Russ gets out of his funk, If 2Pat starts hitting shots, Schroder (well hopefully he’s something), Roberson health, etc...

Also injuries could play a role as well.

If things align, I’d be more than comfortable pushing even more all in and moving for a guy like Prince

He did return to the lineup last night albeit on a minutes restriction.

Apparently Jaylen Brown is an aloof jerk than none of the other Celtic players like.

I don’t know. Seems like a few too many cooks in the kitchen for Boston. There’s only one basketball and lots of guys don’t seem to buy into their role.

The Celtics' biggest issue is that none of their "stars" are real stars. Irving is a fraud.

PS: This also gives me great joy after all the pundits fell for the ridiculous hype and told people to bet the over even though the over/under was already at 60+. Suck it, Bill Simmons.

Grizzlies are in a free fall and are 14th in the west now

If this report is true - https://cavaliersnation.com/2019/01/15/report-teams-calling-cavs-tristan-thompson/ (from Amico so must be taken with several grains of salt)- how would you all feel about a Tristan/Hood for Schroder/Abrines swap? We'd most likely have to send at least one second round pick in addition if not more. But Tristan ends a year earlier than Dennis, would help with rebounding (amid reports we are looking for an additional big man), and Hood could help fill the void of Dennis in the second unit (admittedly won't be much of a void). Might not be the best fit, but makes some sense.

Cleveland has Sexton locked in at PG. Schroder would have to go to a 3rd team. Schroder would be a huge issue being told to backup a rookie, which is why Atlanta paid what they did to get rid of him. Cleveland wouldn't want him. What does Thompson do for OKC? Another big that has no mid-range game and clogs the paint. Are you going to play him with Adams or Noel? Is he replacing Adams or Noel? There is nothing that makes sense about a Schroder for Thompson trade for either team from an on the court perspective and it make no sense on any level for Cleveland.

Key is this:

“While sources did not provide specifics on which teams the Cavs have spoken with, it is believed they are hearing from teams in actual contention.”

“The Oklahoma City Thunder and Portland Trail Blazers are others who may be interested.”

Clickbait. The Cavs want to drump up interest.

Magic according to all reports so far are fine with Augustin and plan to ride out the year with him. He's been solid enough.
