Once again apparently no one on the team knows Mudiay is one of the worst outside shooters in the NBA, makes a lot of sense to guard him tightly and run over every screen.
smh....

If we played bottom 5 teams in each conference every night Dion would be a 6th man of the year candidate.
“If you're getting stops and you're making threes and the other team's not scoring, that's when you're going to see a huge point difference there,” coach Billy Donovan said.

Re: Oklahoma City Thunder Regular Season Thread: Part IV
Typical Dion game, I see. Play one of the worst teams in the league and he goes for 18 pts, 5 ast, 4 stl and shoots 3/4 from three with about 5 minutes to go in the game. Just the type of game that will instill enough confidence in dumb ole Billy to think he's the right guy to play 20-30 minutes off the bench.

Nice game against a bad team. Got the starters some rest, Russ matched Magic's triple double total I think.

Royce trying to justify OKC blowing the most 4th quarter leads by saying they have led after three quarters more often than Golden State.
Doesn't that just make it worse?

Got some rest for the starters, triple double, KD looked good, Adams beat up their bigs. No complaints here.

Furthermore the point he made was just false:
1) Look at tonight’s margin. The Nuggets won the fourth 25-17. That’s a +8. There have been a lot of games this season where the bench has let a 25-point game slip to 15. Let’s just say the garbage time group has been outscored by five in 10 different games this season. That’s a -50. So while that stat is definitely eye-opening, I do think it’s a bit misleading.
The Thunder have scored 0.1 points more than their opponent after leading by at least 10 points after three quarters (29 games). This is not being outscored in blowout wins.
The problem is getting hammered by more than 25 points per 100 possessions in losses in the 4th quarter.
------------------------------

Go Billy, go Bilyl!
"I don't know of any player that, when the shot goes up, he doesn't want it to go in," Donovan said

It's just worthless spin. Does anyone really think the Warriors would have blown as many 4th quarter leads if given as many opportunities as he seems to be implying? I sure don't.

Re: Oklahoma City Thunder Regular Season Thread: Part IV
So a loss tonight actually might not be the worst thing in the world if it played a hand in us getting Memphis in the 1st round instead of Portland.

That's why he did it...
Now Billy has no Durant or Westbrook to handle PG duty. If he starts Dion or Foye at PG....

Ugh, it's impossible to find a good mobile stream lately.

Re: Oklahoma City Thunder Regular Season Thread: Part IV
Portland making a lot of 3s and long 2s and mid-range 2s. Something we couldn't do the other night when we almost lost to the Clippers JV squad. We're also losing a lot of 50/50 balls. If we could've secured a few more of those , and if Portland wasn't white hot on jumpshots, we'd actually be right there.

Re: Oklahoma City Thunder Regular Season Thread: Part IV
That entire sequence pretty much sums up the 1st half:
Portland nearly throws the ball out of bounds, saves it and comes up with the 50/50 ball, and Plumlee gets fouled and drains both FTs. Waiters drives, gets mugged with a no-call, and Crabbe dribbles into a fastbreak 3 and drills it. Down 15.
This one is about to get ugly. Unfortunately, without Durant and Westbrook, we really don't have a Jamal Crawford caliber player who is capable of randomly getting hot and scoring 35-40 points. And apparently Waiters isn't going to have an Austin Rivers game tonight even though they're the same sucky caliber of player.
