Lame.

sam has a history of trying to get rookies to agree to < 120% of the rookie scale, which is the de facto standard. happened with andre roberson.

Robes wasn't a guaranteed first rounder though. That was likely one of the stipulations of him getting drafted. I really doubt presti plays that game with ferguson/Paul.

i don't see where the hold-up is then? ferguson cannot force more than 120% of the rookie scale without sitting out basketball for a year. if sam presti isn't trying to get him for less, then what gives?

I know. Slightly annoyed. Wanted to see him play.

Got to be something like that.

I don't believe most rookies have signed. During cha/mia they said adebayo had signed today and was one of the first. I think you guys are reading too much into it. Also, presti and staff have been a bit busy.

Well most rookies aren't holding out of summer league though. Makes it seem like a genuine controversy.

Buycks still a summer league all-star

Oh boy, we've had some bad recent summer league teams but this one is right down there with any of them.

Nobody can create off the bounce or shoot. Sound familiar? Clearly expecting to have domas hurt the big man rotation as well.

Kennard looks bad so far.

Have to think that PG13 starts at the 4 now and rotates with Grant.

Westbrook/x
Abrines/Ferguson/x
Roberson/McDermott
George/Grant
Adams/Kanter

Have a few options here. Somehow dump Kanter's salary and pursue someone at either wing spot in FA or move George to the 3 and pursue a real 4 in free agency.

Re-signing Gibson only makes sense if he is going to be playing back up C with George and Grant eating up a lot of the minutes unless OKC wants to trade Grant and have Gibson come off of the bench.

Hell, maybe they want Grant to play the 3 again.

If I'm OKC, I am only re-signing Gibson if we are dumping Kanter's contract or it's just that good of a deal.

So that leaves us with some options:

Let Roberson walk and get another shooter at the 3 (Miles?) or re-sign Roberson and find a way to bolster the bench. Personally, I would re-sign Roberson and have Abrines start at the 2 and find a back up 2 and 1.

George has very famously said he won't play the 4.

Ability to dribble penetrate looks extremely limited.

our options are limited, even if we want to be heavy tax payers.

This is why blowing it up sooner or later still seems plausible, even likely if Sam cannot pull multiple other rabbits out if his hat. Chumps like Doug won't get it done.
