I'm curious what you guys would think about a trade centered around shipping out Payne & Kanter. Is there any feasible trade you would do? Morrow & Kanter?

Feasible, probably not. I don't think Kanter's value is that high, he has a trade kicker and NTC, and unless there's a really high end SG coming back I don't want to deal Payne. And if they deal him they'd also need a PG coming back because DJ sucks. Only stuff I trade:
Dion
DJ
Novak
McGary
Seconds
and Kanter if someone gives a big back

Although Dion would probably have a good game.
"Good"
Eh, there's a half season's worth of evidence that says he is an okay player when he is given the ball and allowed to do whatever he wants with it. It won't win you games and your team will suck, but his stats will be pretty solid.
“If you're getting stops and you're making threes and the other team's not scoring, that's when you're going to see a huge point difference there,” coach Billy Donovan said.

Are there any PFs/Cs you would try and acquire for "parts" to make moving Kanter more pallatable? Maybe a guy who can defend the block and P&R significantly better than Kanter but not as good as Adams? Basically a guy that can make defensive stops in limited minutes in our rotation?
EDIT: Ideally a guy who can play the 4 and the 5 defensively.
What are your thoughts on a guy like Jon Leuer?

Phoenix wouldn't do it, and Leuer isn't a 5, he's pretty much just a 4. And there'd have to be so much salary filler coming back, and PHX wouldn't take Kanter if they've got Chandler still there. I can't think of a guy who fits. They just need a cheaper backup C who can defend the 5. The problem is Kanter doesn't really fit anywhere.

What about Chicago? Chicago has the personnell to defend the 3pt line and can surround him with defensive minded players at the 4 as well.

With Noah supposedly unhappy this is my dream scenario. I'd love to trade Enes for Snell and Joakim, let Joakim walk this summer or sign him at a steep discount and pursue Horford on a 14-16 million dollar contract.

They also have 2 max contracts, one of which looks like an albatross right now, and too many rotation bigs the way it is. They want to trade away one of them, not get one.

Interesting point, but surely Chicago's FO might have interest in throwing a third team in this trade to enhance the value of their bigs going out.

Depends, they still desperately need offense and are almost sure that Pau won't be coming back. They could take a swing at getting younger and going Portis/Niko/Kanter would space the floor nicely.

Kanter sure would look good in a Bulls jersey!

If they would move Noah for him I'd love it, I just don't see any way they do.

Yeah, that's completely predicated on the report that Noah is 'unhappy' meaning he would like to be traded. Kinda wonder if a Pau rental would be possible instead. I'd really like to trade Enes for an expiring that has on court value. I think with Donovan here Horford may be more than just a pipe dream if we can clear the salary. It would still leave us one wing short of where we need to be, but a rotation of Horford/Serge/Adams would mean Mitch is completely expendable for a James Johnson or PJ Tucker type.

I don't think Mitch is viewed that highly by other FOs around the league. He needs to show some promise in the NBA again to bring his value back up. It's been a minute since he has played extended minutes.

They can't clear that much salary with KD though, Horford is getting a max.

Is there anyway KD leaves money on the table to help out our FO? Even if its just a couple mil.

I doubt it, and he would have to leave basically his whole salary on the table.

Why is that? Can you explain it to me? Is there not a scenario (trading Kanter) where he can leave a little money on the table (to set an example) and it helps?

Smitty went over this in the cap threada remember?
if they trade Kanter they have to take back salary unless he goes to a team that can entirely absorb his salary. Even then they get a tpe that is against the cap (they may be able to renounce it though). They're over the cap either way.
