Really curious if Melo is more big ball three than small ball 4. He's not athletic or long enough to get good shots against pf's, at least against Sf's he can bully them in the post.

We probably can't get away with him defending wings. I think the answer is that we should simply just work harder to get mismatches. If Melo gets a short guard defending him around the paint I'll generally trust him to make the shot over the top. He still seems to do well at bullying those smaller defenders. But we just rarely see it, and we instead get 4s who can now defend him better because he can't jump as high or move as fast as he used to. Everyone involved seems fairly content with that, of course.
