Diallo is a far better basketball player than his draft slot. I would guess that many teams would take him in the lottery if they had a shot to draft all over again.

It’s going to be sad to watch his development stagnate in this offense.

And he misses today's pregame walkthrough and get's hits with the inactive status against a team he would have had a good chance of getting a lot of minutes against. Got to wonder what the inside story is on that. Sounds fishy.

Nothing fishy about it, Billy just got a sacrificial lamb to preach professionalism and team first.
“If you're getting stops and you're making threes and the other team's not scoring, that's when you're going to see a huge point difference there,” coach Billy Donovan said.

Just a rookie mistake.

Its the 5th game of the year though. How'd he manage to not make said rookie mistake in the other 4? I bet there's an inside story. Like he drove to Dallas to see a girl and didn't get back in time for the walkthrough or something similar. We're talking about a 20 year old here.

Noel last night reminded me of McGary in that game vs the Clippers.

If you remember Ad wasn't an offensive player a Kentucky look at him now I think Ferguson and Diallo will both be really good in the future Ferguson going to have to work on his body.Diallo is ahead of Ferguson.By the way dont sleep on Burton let him lose Billy.

AD led his Kentucky team in scoring.

Time to bump this thead after what we've seen out of him in the last few games. He's amazing at running and dunking, but that jumper is totally busted. Those misses from 3 are starting to pile up for him.

Re: Diallo cold water thread
Diallo and Ferguson are similar prospects and similar in age but one is playing with confidence and the other seems like he’s overthinking everything. I probably have higher expectations for a second year player than I should and that leads me to give Diallo more of a pass on his shot and other mistakes.
It’s pretty obvious that the thunder have told Terrance to focus on defense and three point shots. I still can’t believe how poor his shots look. This isn’t a shooter who is going through a bad streak. He will shoot a wide open three from the top of the key and it will miss badly left/right off the side of the rim. Or he shot last night that hit the backboard. I’m glad to see him being a bit more aggressive lately. I wonder if Diallo’s success has contributed to that. Diallo can compensate for his shooting by getting to the basket. I haven’t seen that from Ferguson yet.
I’m not giving up on Ferguson and don’t necessarily want to trade him. I’m just getting a Jerami Grant-like feeling with him. The difference is Ferguson has the speed to not get beat off the dribble by smaller players.

I believe they’ll both be great and have never wavered in my belief.

I don’t know what to make of Ferguson. My thoughts vacillate on him so much. His defense was stellar tonight.
Also loved Hamidou shucking CP3 for the finish

Re: Diallo cold water thread
So let’s talk a bit more about Hamidou. Does this sample size tell us enough about the player he is going to be?
He struggled for sure in the 1st quarter against the Kings, but he clearly has a bunch more to his game than the usual 45th overall pick.
What current player do you see his game most closely resembling (if he hits his ceiling). I know Iguodala has been mentioned, but does anyone see anyone else?

Butler has been mentioned as a comp for Ferguson. If Diallo develops any kind of a shot I think he resembles butler more than Ferguson does. Although I don’t know if Butler is a great comparison since jimmy isn’t a freak athlete. Everything really hinges on him developing his shot. I would say right now maybe he can be a poor mans Oladipo.

We need to play him along with the starters and Russ, for a lot more minutes. He showed what he can be with them on the floor

I'm still going with Corey Brewer just based on the terrible jumper though he may be better in the half court than him. He does get to the rim fairly well which is surprising.

I’ll be super disappointed if that’s the player he turns into
